Along the way, they'll encounter challenges that include large age gaps, language barriers, cultural issues, and questionable pasts.

Three couples, however, were not featured in this episode: Stephanie, a 29-year-old from Yonkers, NY, and Erika, a 24 year-old from Australia; David, a 60-year-old from Las Vegas, NV, and Lana, a 27-year-old from Ukraine; and Darcey Silva, a 45-year-old from Middletown, CT, and Tom Brooks, a 39-year-old from Nottingham, United Kingdom.

Darcey -- who also appeared on Seasons 1 and 2 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days with her now-ex Jesse Meester -- and Tom left off trying to make their complicated relationship work after filming the Tell-All special for 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days' third season, which aired on TLC in October 2019.

Below is what was shown on the Season 4 premiere of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days:

ED AND ROSEMARIE

Ed, a 4'11" professional photographer, said he has a huge personality that makes him feel taller. Ed admitted he's very self-conscious about his height but he's been able to overcome that and his best friend is a dog named Teddy, although his heart really belonged to his 29-year-old daughter Tiffany.

Ed's track record with relationships is "not very good," according to the reality TV star.

Ed was apparently married for two years but was unfaithful to his then-wife and so the relationship didn't work out. However, he and his ex-wife had welcomed Tiffany together.

After his divorce, Ed didn't think about having a girlfriend because his daughter was his life. Ed essentially gave up on finding love again, but then he met "Rose" and
"everything changed."

Ed said he met Rose on social media, sent her a friend request, and she accepted him. Ed said Rose has "the most amazing, deep brown eyes" and he fell in love with her instantly.

"Talking to Rose has become the best part of my day," Ed shared.

Ed therefore asked Rose to be his girlfriend and she said, "Yes." Ed said Rose called him a "king" to her "queen," and he noted she's the woman of his dreams and The One.

"I can't wait anymore to meet her," Ed told the cameras, later adding, "I'm following my heart."

As a result, Ed planned a trip to the Philippines to meet his 23-year-old beauty.

After four weeks of dating Rose, Ed began sending gifts to the Philippines, although it took quite some time for them to arrive. He spent over $5,000 on shipping and gifts -- including shoes, pillows, and a grill for his girlfriend.

Ed acknowledged family and friends were "skeptical" and "worried" about his new relationship but he had not been in a relationship since his divorce 27 years ago. It was a difficult and lonely time for Ed, but he said Rose touched and owned his heart in a brand new way.

Ed said he was willing to take a chance on love again but he just hoped it would be the real deal.

Ed was leaving in six days, but he was feeling conflicted because his friends and family were pushing back on his decision to make the trip overseas.

Ed told his mother he was "very serious" about Rose, but his mother reminded Ed that he didn't really know this woman. Ed said he has a sensitive skin condition so he packed pillows and blankets for his trip to the Philippines.

Ed's mom worried Rose was just interested in her son's money and she didn't want to see him get hurt. However, Ed had already purchased an engagement ring -- and his mom begged him to return it.

Ed said once Tiffany found out about Rose, she stopped talking to her father. It had been four weeks since Ed last heard from Rose, and Ed explained Tiffany was embarrassed her father wanted to marry a woman younger than his own daughter.

Ed realized his relationship was negatively affecting Tiffany, but he said he just wanted to be happy for once and have love work out.

Ed's mother advised him to re-establish the relationship he always had with Tiffany, and she clearly didn't think Rose was worth the risk for Ed. Ed wasn't going to give up on his daughter, but he didn't want to let Rose go either.

Ed's parents got married in Mexico and then moved to the United States, so his mother was especially skeptical about his international romance.

"My daughter is the most important person in my life, and my hope if I can change Tiffany's mind by letting her see how happy I am and letting her know this is real," Ed told the cameras.

Ed called his daughter and asked her to get in touch with him so they could talk.

Ed was getting ready to board three planes and travel over 6,000 miles to meet the love of his life. But before the trip, Ed was shown putting mayo in his hair to smooth out his hair and moisturize his scalp since he had started dying his hair.

Ed was self conscious about his age and looks considering Rose is so much younger. He also lied to Rose, saying he's 5'2" when he's actually 4'11".

Rose is a single mom of a four-year-old boy named Prince. Ed said it was too soon for Prince to call him dad, but he had high hopes they would bond.

Ed was a little jealous and concerned Rose had so many friends on Facebook, fearing he talked to other people the way she talked to him. Ed was also worried about her ex-boyfriend, and when he broached the topic, their connection was ironically lost.

When Ed tried to contact Rose via Skype again, she didn't answer.

Ed hadn't been intimate with a woman in years, and he had a hard time trusting Rose since he knew very little about her past relationships. Ed said she shut down every time he brought up an ex-boyfriend.

Ed therefore planned to ask Rose to take an STD test, especially considering he's a bit of a germophobe.

AVERY AND ASH

Avery said she's very interested in health and wellness but is working as a dental assistant. However, her true passion is creating healthy dishes and sharing her recipes online.

"But I am not a traditional girl. I like to infuse my recipes with cannabis. There are so many health benefits to marijuana," Avery said, adding that she's not your typical stoner.

Avery insisted she's a very good role model for her two children: daughters Scarlett, 10, and Silver, 2.

Scarlett was welcomed during Avery's first marriage, while Silver was born from her last relationship. Avery said she got pregnant two months in with an IUD, joking that type of birth control cannot be trusted.

Once Avery got pregnant, she sold everything she had and moved in with her then-boyfriend; however, the relationship didn't work out and she was left with nothing.

Avery then met her "soul mate," Ash, who she had been dating for nine months by the time the show began filming. Avery called him hot and dreamy, and after exchanging pictures and talking, they began videochatting.

Avery was concerned about Ash's job since he's a relationship coach who "helps women find Mr. Right." She wondered if she fell in love with him since he knows all the right things to say.

Despite her concerns, Avery planned to travel to Australia to meet Ash in person for the first time. One of her exes, Jared -- whom Avery had dated for a year-and-a-half -- was Avery's good friend, and he joked she had driven him absolutely crazy.

But Jared didn't want to see Avery get hurt, and he didn't appreciate that Ash was around single women all the time. Avery noticed Ash was online all the time, around the clock, and so her jealousy and insecurity issues resulted in them breaking up three times before.

Avery was risking a lot for love as a single mom, especially since she didn't have a lot of money to travel, so she had hopes this relationship would turn out to be everything she thought it was.

Avery's trip to Australia was only a couple of days away, and footage showed her meeting with a couple of friends, Jen and Josh.

Jen and Josh asked Avery why Ash wasn't traveling to America to meet her, and Avery explained he was unable to obtain a K-1 visa because bankruptcy is in his past.

Avery wondered if Ash was keeping more secrets because he seemed to be full of excuses, so she definitely had trust issues in their relationship.

"He eventually explained to me his past business partner had taken a lot of money from him and it kind of put him in a hole that forced him to go into bankruptcy. But I am still bothered about the fact Ash felt like he had to lie to me about it," Avery told the cameras.

Avery also shared Ash had once deleted all photos of her from his social media, saying his account had been hacked and someone had changed his relationship status.

Avery worried Ash was receiving messages from other women and he didn't want her to know about them, but he sent her a screenshot of his emails to allegedly prove he had been hacked.

Avery chose to believe Ash, but he was still working on gaining her trust back.

Jen just didn't want Avery to make another mistake that would leave her unhappy, and Avery acknowledged there was a possibility Ash may not turn out to be the man he had portrayed himself to be.

However, Avery felt the need to pursue their amazing connection because it was apparently unlike anything she had ever felt before.

GEOFFREY AND VARYA

Geoffrey, a landlord in Knoxville, called himself "a country boy" who loves to be outside and is a hands-on man. He said he loves getting his hands dirty and used to be a "bad boy," but his life apparently changed once he became a father.

Geoffrey had been married a few times and was raising three children from two previous relationships.

Paxton and Dakota are his adult children from his relationship 20 year ago, and he also has a four-year-old son Cayvan, but his relationship with Cayvan's mother didn't work out, which was apparently "devastating" for him.

Geoffrey said it was hard to trust women since he had so many failed marriages, so he changed up his dating style and met Varya on an international dating website.

Geoffrey said he loved Varya's look and personality, and their connection grew exponentially in a short time. Geoffrey called her "a career woman," which he found "super attractive," and he said they had so much in common.

Geoffrey claimed they're both goal-oriented and adventurous, and he said she checked off all the boxes on his list.

Geoffrey therefore planned to travel to Russia so he could meet Varya for the first time in person. His adult sons were very hesitant about his plans, but Geoffrey anticipated he and Varya would match well and then he'd ask her to marry him.

Dakota and Paxton told the cameras it was way too soon for their father to be talking about marriage, but the boys intended to support him no matter what.

The boys knew Geoffrey had a difficult few years after the death of his newborn son Kazhem, so they didn't want their dad jumping into another relationship in attempt to mend his broken heart.

"I actually had two kids with my recent ex. Cayvan had a younger brother named Kazhem, and in March of last year, my son Kazhem actually passed away. He was a year-and-a-month old. He was at the house and he had a seizure. While in the hospital, they put in him a coma," Geoffrey shared.

Geoffrey said that Kazhem was put on life support after several days in the hospital and then he held his son when medical staff "pulled the plug." Geoffrey admitted there will be a hole in the heart for the rest of his life and losing a child is the worst thing a person can go through.

Geoffrey told his sons he was more open-hearted due to the loss of his son, so Dakota and Paxton just advised their dad to be careful and cautious.

Geoffrey hoped for the best because he wasn't sure he'd make it through another heartbreak.

Geoffrey had met Varya five months ago and was only five days away from his trip to Russia. Geoffrey had a Russian friend, Olga, from work, so she was there to support him before his journey abroad.

Olga didn't think Geoffrey was thinking logically and believed Varya was an "opportunist" looking to get out of her country and come to America. When Geoffrey said Varya speaks English very well, Olga said that's because she's been preparing to leave Moscow and move to the United States for a while.

Olga said Varya would turn around and leave him once she receives a Green Card.

"You are going to hurt yourself and you are going to hurt your boys," Olga insisted.

Geoffrey said he had to meet Varya in person in order to determine whether her intentions were pure. Geoffrey was only one day away from his trip, which he anticipated would bring him so much happiness.

Geoffrey, however, admitted there was a lot Varya didn't know about him, and he had a lot to learn as well.

Before heading off, Geoffrey met with friends Mark and Mary, whom he had actually briefly dated. Geoffrey said there was a chance he might leave Russia an engaged man, but his friends didn't want to see him rushing into another relationship.

Mary apparently still had feelings for Geoffrey, but they had tried to be together in the past and he thought they made better friends than lovers.

Mary just hoped Varya would accept his past, and Geoffrey knew he had to lay everything out on the table.

LISA AND USMAN

Lisa was shown getting her entire body waxed before her trip to Nigeria to meet a man whom she had been talking to for two years. It would be Lisa's first trip out of the United States.

Lisa wanted to recapture her youth through her trip to Nigeria.

Lisa divorced four years prior from an unfaithful man, who allegedly verbally abused her in the relationship for years. Lisa said leaving the marriage was the best thing for her and her 15-year-old daughter, and she worked hard to support her child.

Lisa, a hospice caregiver, noted she got wrapped up in social media after the divorce and then met Usman, 30. Lisa thought he was "absolutely gorgeous" and said Usman contacted her on Facebook and videochatted right away to prove he wasn't a catfish.

Lisa called Usman flirtatious and was shocked when he first expressed his love for her. Lisa said Nigerian men are known for scamming Americans but Usman seemed trustworthy.

The pair therefore began videochatting, and Lisa said her man had seen her completely naked. Lisa was certain her naked body turned Usman on, and she said she was ready to meet the man who had captured her mind and soul.

Usman is apparently an entertainer in Nigeria who has over 20,000 followers on Instagram. Lisa didn't understand why this Nigerian celebrity had feelings for her, but she revealed Usman had written a song for her that confirmed his love.

Lisa thought it was the most romantic gesture ever, and she continued to play the song several times a day.

Lisa said their relationship was built on trust but she had an issue with the "thirsty" women who followed him on social media.

Lisa was not okay with women telling Usman they wanted and admired him. She therefore demanded Usman tighten up his social-media profiles after seeing some flirty comments had been left by women, such as heart emojis. Lisa just hoped her man was faithful to her and being honest.

Lisa was a few days away from her trip, and she called Usman her "baby love." She couldn't wait to meet him despite the skepticism from her friends.

Lisa revealed Usman had already proposed marriage and so she planned to wed him in Nigeria.

Lisa said Usman had fulfilled all of her desires other than physical intimacy, and she knew the sex would be great because she was going to have unprotected sex with him. She said they loved and trusted each other, and unprotected sex was something he had never experienced before.

"He'll teach me his Nigerian ways, and I'll teach him my American ways," Lisa said, adding that Usman had been tested for STDs and was clean.

Lisa was warned Usman would tell her anything she wanted to hear in order to come to America and receive a Green Card, but Lisa felt completely confident in her man's loyalty and intentions.

"I feel like this is an opportunity for me to have a love that I have never experienced in my life," Lisa gushed.

"But the one thing I am worried about are his female fans, and I need to make sure he has been faithful to me. But I won't know until I travel to Nigeria and see him face to face."

YOLANDA AND WILLIAMS

Yolanda, who runs an online business in which she sells clothing she finds in thrift stores, said she's a go-getter who goes after what she wants.

Yolanda apparently overcame a lot of struggles in her life, including weight loss when she was over 300 pounds. Yolanda apparently lost over 150 pounds, and she gushed about being "cute now."

Yolanda explained she had started to lose weight when Dwayne got sick. She was with Dwayne for 30 years and loved him immensely, but he suffered from kidney disease and passed away.

Yolanda admitted his death woke her up and convinced her to change her life around, both for herself and her children, whom she had welcomed with Dwayne. Yolanda has six children -- three boys and three girls ages 17 to 29.

Yolanda joked about how there was never a dull moment in her life but she loved all her kids and wouldn't change a thing about their family dynamic. The kids gushed about Yolanda is such a kind yet stubborn woman.

Yolanda was apparently keeping her new love a secret from her kids, and she told them she was filming a show about her weight-loss journey.

"But the truth is, I met someone online and I'm in love," Yolanda said.

Yolanda was dating Williams, a "gorgeous" and muscular restaurant manager from England. She said Williams made her feel great about herself and she never thought she'd meet a man on Instagram.

"He was so sweet, and he quickly wooed me in. To have another man like, it was just a good feeling," Yolanda said, adding that she and Williams talked on the phone between three and five times a day.

Yolanda joked about how she's a cougar -- and she's okay with that. However, Williams thought she was 45-year-old when she's really 51. Williams apparently thought 45 was old enough, so Yolanda didn't want to reveal she was any older than that until they could meet in person.

Yolanda was leaving for England in one week to meet the man of her dreams, and she hoped a marriage proposal would come out of it.

Yolanda's eldest daughter Kara was the only family member who knew about Williams, and Kara clearly thought her mom was a little bit crazy for traveling to a different country to meet a strange man.

Kara wanted to make sure Williams was truthful with her mother.

Yolanda said Williams communicated with her on the phone but claimed his camera was broken so she could see him but he couldn't see her. Yolanda also never received a video of Williams, which was a little disturbing.

Yolanda trusted Williams, but Kara called her naive and delusional. Kara planned to travel to England with her mother to have her back in case things went badly.

Yolanda wanted to prove Williams was real and their love was real before sharing the news of her relationship with her family.

Yolanda was leaving for a week to meet Williams for the first time, and she already loved everything about him. Yolanda knew traveling for love was crazy, but she admitted love makes you do crazy things.

The original plan was for Williams to travel to the United States, but when he asked Yolanda for money for a plane ticket, she was a little disappointed and taken aback. She therefore said it would be better for her to just travel to England.

Yolanda asked Williams to pick her up at the airport on the phone and they expressed love to each other.

"I love Williams and I know Williams loves me, but this is a huge change in my life... I'm very afraid of how [my kids] will react, but I have to tell them before I leave," Yolanda said in a confessional.

Yolanda said her kids were still mourning the death of their father -- who had been in prison prior to his death -- and wanted Dwayne to be her first and last love, so she was afraid they would be upset about Williams and not support her new relationship.

Finally, Yolanda shared with her children at the dinner table she had met a man on Instagram.

"He slid in my DM," Yolanda shared.

Yolanda's sons Damante, Tareek and Maleek felt really blindsided by the news and joked it "was not a good look" for their mother, who admitted she was "in love" with this man.

Once the kids heard Yolanda had never videochatted with Williams, they thought the situation was very fishy and hard to believe. They feared Yolanda was being catfished.

Yolanda broke down into tears, saying she had been faithful to their father for 30 years and didn't want to be alone anymore. She wanted a partner and begged her children to have her back through this process, and they agreed to be supportive.
