After previously denying it, VH1 has confirmed that I Love New York second-season lovebirds George "Tailor Made" Weisgerber and Tiffany "New York" Pollard have called it quits on their romantic relationship.

"They broke up during the filming of New York Goes Hollywood," a VH1 representative told People in a Wednesday report.

"The whole drama went down with our cameras rolling and will play out for the audience."

Pollard could not be reached for comment and a spokesperson for Weisgerber would only say he's "very happy," however a "source" told People that the couple actually split prior to filming for New York Goes to Hollywood.

"When they began shooting, he played it up that they were still together even though they weren't," the source told People.  "They had an understanding because he has respect for Tiffany."

In addition, the source claims it was Weisgerber who called things off with Pollard slightly more than a month after he proposed marriage and she accepted during I Love New York's second-season reunion show in December.

"When they first got back from L.A. after they filmed I Love New York 2, everything was great,"  the source told People

"In January, George had a serious discussion with Tiffany.  He had come to the conclusion that he couldn't handle the relationship anymore. It was too distracting to his life, his career and his daughter. He couldn't consistently be involved in that kind of drama."

In February VH1 ordered New York Goes to Hollywood, an I Love New York spin-off that will follow Pollard as she goes to Tinsel Town to become an actress.

However she made the move sans Weisgerber -- who quit his job at Calvin Klein to appear as one of Pollard's second-season suitors but stayed behind in the Big Apple during filming for New York Goes to Hollywood due to his new job as a Mark Ecko executive and to be with his 12-year-old daughter Asia.

After New York Goes to Hollywood's announcement, Weisgerber had insisted he was still with Pollard.

"Tiffany and I are very happy together," Weisgerber had told People in March.

"I'll visit her as much as I can [during the show's filming]."

"Their lives are very different," the source told People.  "He said he almost felt guilty that [Pollard] was home alone.  She wasn't used to dating someone with a traditional 9-to-5 job."

While the source said Pollard was "upset" about the mid-February break-up after several failed attempts at reconciliation, there's apparently no hard feelings between the two.

"They continue to communicate regularly," the source told People.  "He thinks she's a sweetheart. And always will."
