Jesse James publicly stated he's "100% sure" that estranged wife Sandra Bullock won't take him back after he admitted to cheating on her, however his ex-wife Janine Lindemulder apparently thinks that's a lie.

"He believes that Sandra will take him back in time and that they just have to stay apart for a while for the sake of her public image," a source close to Lindemulder told RadarOnline in a Thursday report.

"His ego is so big that he cannot really accept that he brought about his own downfall and nobody else."

Lindemulder -- an ex-porn star who was married to the former Monster Garage and Jesse James is a Dead Man star for nearly two years -- reportedly watched James' recent Nightline interview and felt that his claim that he was physically and emotionally abused by his father was overblown.

"As far as Janine is concerned Jesse is just a master con artist who was trying to manipulate the situation for his own ends," the source told RadarOnline.

"She does not think that the abuse James claimed he suffered at the hands of his father was anywhere near as bad as he claimed."

Instead, Lindemulder apparently feels that James is the victim of abandonment issues.

"Janine feels that Jesse was left scarred towards women after his own mom abandoned him when he was only 7-years-old," the source told RadarOnline.

"Jesse really is a control freak who reacts really badly towards people when he cannot get his own way. His father stood-up to him at times and he resented that."

Lindemulder is currently scheduled to be released from a federal half-way house in Oregon on Friday, according to RadarOnline, which added she plans to move closer to Sunny -- the 7-year-old daughter she has with James. In addition, Lindemulder reportedly wants 50/50 custody of Sunny.

Bullock filed for divorce from James after allegations of his infidelity first surfaced earlier this year.
