The 28-year-old cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys dumped Michele, 30, and even called their engagement a huge mistake, TMZ reported.

Scandrick just proposed to Michele less than one month ago, but things apparently turned sour fast.

"I have made the decision to call off the engagement and permanently end the relationship I had with Draya," Scandrick told TMZ. "In hindsight, it was a poor decision to propose. I am anxious to move on with my life both personally and professionally."

Michele, who had dated Scandrick for about two years before he popped the question, reportedly declined comment on the matter.

Scandrick had proposed with a seven-carat, cushion-cut diamond ring with tiny diamonds along the band, according to Us Weekly.

Both Scandrick and Michele have never been married before yet have children from previous relationships. Michele has a 12-year-old son, while Scandrick has five-year-old twin girls.

Basketball Wives LA, which follows a group of women who have all had romantic ties to professional basketball players at one point or another, premiered in Summer 2011 on VH1. The series' fourth season wrapped production in April and will premiere July 12.
