Tyler admitted that he had let his "emotions get the best of me" when he walked away from Sharna and the cameras while Dancing with the Stars co-host Julianne Hough was still speaking live on the air.
"Not my proudest moment," Tyler said in the video.
"When I was upstairs, getting my scores, I thought we were done filming. I needed to step away from it all. I was disappointed in myself."
Tyler and Sharna had performed a Viennese waltz to "Love Song for a Vampire" by Annie Lennox while dressed in Dracula-inspired costumes. They received 26 out of 40 possible points from Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli and guest judge Shirley Ballas.
Tyler explained that he had felt pressure to deliver a standout performance and earn enough points to help keep them in the competition.
"It was boom or bust at that point, we needed to have a great score or we were out of this competition. And it was bust, in my head, and I felt like I let myself down," Tyler shared.
"More importantly, I thought I let Sharna down and it was hard."
Sharna, however, assured Tyler that he hadn't disappointed her. The professional dancer also questioned the judges' scoring and suggested Tyler hadn't received enough credit for his improvement.
"Literally every bit of technique that got called out is everything that we've been working on all week. And, to be honest, I watched it back. And, to be honest, I think he executed a lot of it beautifully," Sharna said.
"I think your score should not have been 7's. I don't know why you were given 7's."

Sharna added, "I need you to know that what you achieved was incredible. You didn't let anyone down. It was a tough night. For whatever reason, they were tough on you."
Tyler and Sharna were sent home in a double elimination alongside Savannah Bananas baseball player Jackson Olson and his pro partner Emma Slater.
While Tyler initially felt "extremely disappointed" with his scores, he explained that having about an hour to process the night had helped him put the experience into perspective.
"I was heartbroken. And that's real and raw. This show's a pressure cooker and all I wanted to do was score well, crush it and move on to next week," Tyler admitted.
Tyler said he had been upset that things didn't work out the way he had hoped, but he could still appreciate everything he had accomplished with Sharna.
"But I can step back now an hour removed from it all and just be so happy with how everything went. I'm very proud of myself. Like I said, it was a dream," Tyler explained.
Tyler called competing on Dancing with the Stars a "once in a lifetime experience" and described his emotional reaction as "a real human moment out of me."
Despite the disappointing ending, Tyler said his time on the ABC reality dancing competition had been "one of the greatest rides of my life."

"It stings, it's gonna burn for a little bit, it'll sting for a couple days. But I love this experience overall."
Tyler continued, "I'm sorry that I let my emotions get the best of me earlier. But it came out of a place of love and passion, and it was tough."
Sharna had previously opened up about the close friendship she developed with Tyler during their time rehearsing and performing together.
Sharna praised Tyler's work ethic on podcasts and told People in early October, "I've done this show for a long time. Every now and then you meet a human where you're like, 'Oh, wait, we're really forming a beautiful friendship and connection here.'"
Sharna said she had developed "such a deep love and respect" for Tyler and his fiancee, Tate Madden, who is pregnant with the couple's first child.
"There are few partners of mine over all the years that have stayed family to me, and I genuinely feel like that's this," Sharna shared.
"Our conversations, our bonding, our getting each other through hard times."
After Tyler finished as the runner-up on Hannah Brown's The Bachelorette season, he was a finalist on Fox's The Real Dirty Dancing in 2022 and then won Season 2 of Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.
Tyler and Tate first met in 2022 while working on his home renovation series, Going Home with Tyler Cameron, for which Tate served as a photographer. They confirmed their romance in September 2024 and announced their engagement in August 2026.
Tyler and Tate revealed they're expecting a baby girl during Dancing with the Stars' Dedication Night on October 20, 2026.
