Married at First Sight expert Pastor Calvin Roberson has revealed why the show didn't inform Season 7's other couples about Mia Bally's arrest and the effect it had on her honymoon plans with new husband Tristan Thompson.

"You and all the other experts really kept these couples in the dark about what was going on with Mia and Tristan. Why was it important to let them find out what was going on for themselves?" Jamie Otis asked Pastor Cal on Tuesday night's Married at First Sight: Unfiltered.

"It's a very sensitive situation, and because of the complexity of it, it really wasn't our story to tell," Pastor Cal explained as both Danielle Bergman and Dave Flaherty sat beside him.

"We wanted Mia and/or Tristan to reveal to them in a time when they felt comfortable doing it."

As shown on previous Married at First Sight episodes, Mia was detained in a Texas airport while she and Tristan were traveling to Cancun, Mexico for their honeymoon. Mia was pulled away for questioning and spent two days in custody due to a warrant that had been issued for her arrest back in February.

The three couples were staying at the same resort in Cancun and planned to meet up to share some adventures together, so Dave, Danielle and their respective spouses had no idea what had happened to Mia and Tristan given they never showed up.

A quick conversation with Mia on speakerphone informed Dave, Danielle, Bobby Dodd and Amber Martorana during a dinner out that an incident stopped her from getting on the plane, but Dave later learned of Mia's arrest and detainment in a subsequent additional chat with Tristan on the phone later in the honeymoon trip.

Dave and Amber, in turn, shared the news of Mia and Tristan's struggle with Bobby and Danielle.

"When [Tristan] was like, 'Yeah she was actually arrested,' I was like..." Danielle said on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, dropping her jaw in shock. "It got more complicated at that point because we were getting to completely different sides [of the same story]."

Dave agreed Mia's run-in with the law "shocked" him.

"But it made the call with Mia from the night before make more sense, because it's like, 'Okay, she was just avoiding it.' We were like, 'Okay, we're not getting the real story,'" Dave admitted.

Danielle also recalled of her experience in Cancun, "I remember feeling bad for Tristan because it was like, you just married a stranger the day before you're on the plane for your honeymoon and then these people just approach your brand new wife whom you don't even know that well! I knew in our head, we were freaked out, but what was going through his head?!"

Once Mia was released and returned home to her husband in Dallas, Tristan asked whether the stalking claims he had read in the warrant were true and if she knew or had any type of relationship with the accuser -- all of which Mia denied.

Mia insisted all claims against her, including unauthorized use of a man's credit card, were "100 percent false" and someone had stolen her identity. Tristan decided to believe her at the time although her story didn't make much sense.

However, Mia "came clean" to Tristan off-camera days later that she did, in fact, have a brief relationship with the man who had filed the arrest warrant.

Tristan was upset at first that Mia had lied to him and betrayed him, but he decided to stand by his wife when she needed him most and continue to try to make their marriage work. As of the latest episode, the couple is falling in love with one another.

The arrest warrant was issued after Mia's alleged ex-boyfriend, Jared Evans, claimed she had stalked him on multiple occasions in the 13 months that followed their December 2016 break-up and also made an unauthorized purchase of an Apple iPhone on his credit card a year after their split.
