The former Dancing with the Stars fourth-season celebrity participant and her husband Curtis Conway are expecting their first child together, she confirmed to Essence in the magazine's May issue.

"I don't know yet if we are having a boy or a girl, but I'm excited that I have a life inside me that my husband and I created," Ali told Essence, People reported Wednesday.

Ali and Conway -- a former NFL player -- married last July.  This will be Ali's first child, while Conway already has three children -- twin 13-year-old sons Kelton and Cameron and 9-year-old daughter Leilani.

"I am 100% undeniably happy," Ali told Essence, People reported. "I've never been able to say that before."

Ali and her professional partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy finished third during Dancing with the Stars' fourth-season finale last May.

Since then, she served as co-host for NBC's American Gladiators primetime revival earlier this year and will also reprise that role during the show's upcoming second season, which is scheduled to premiere May 12.

In addition, Ali  is currently working as a contributing correspondent for CBS' The Early Show.  She's also scheduled to serve as host for Nickelodeon's upcoming The N's Student Body, which will follow a group of teens as they attempt to change their lives through diet, exercise, volunteer work and academics.
