Kim Powers finished in sixth place on Survivor: Africa, the franchise's third season, in 2001.

Alex competed on Survivor: The Amazon, Season 6 of the franchise, in 2003 and placed seventh.

The couple met due to their ties with the franchise and got married in August 2006.

They are still together to this day, living in San Francisco, CA, with their adopted daughter named Bella.
