The Vanilla Ice Project star, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, was taken into custody Wednesday after pricey items were stolen from a home in Lantana, FL, adjacent to the house he was renovating for his reality show, Variety reported.

According to Lantana police chief Sean Scheller, the burglar stole furniture, a pool heater, bicycles, etc from the home earlier this month.

Lantana police issued a press release documenting how authorities obtained a search warrant and discovered several stolen items at Vanilla Ice's residence in Palm Beach County -- which were all later identified and returned to their rightful owner. Such became evidence that the former rapper "played a role" in the crime.

Scheller insisted to Variety, however, that Vanilla Ice has been cooperative throughout the criminal investigation.

The "Ice Ice Baby" singer has starred on The Vanilla Ice Project on the DIY Network since October 2010. The series features him flipping and restoring houses, and its fourth season just concluded in May 2014.
