Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher developing new ABC reality series

By Christopher Rocchio, 02/27/2008

Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher are currently responsible for two The CW reality shows, however they've apparently collaborated to concoct a new unscripted series for ABC.

The America's Next Top Model creator and Beauty and the Geek executive producer have teamed up to create a new reality series that will have contestants competing in a beauty pageant, The Hollywood Reporter reported Tuesday.

ABC has ordered eight episodes of the series -- the format of which obviously has a twist, however the network "requested" be kept quiet because production has yet to commence, according to The Reporter.

The yet-to-be-titled series is the product of Banks' Bankable Productions; Kutcher and Jason Goldberg's Katalyst Films; and Warner Horizon, with which Banks has a deal.

In addition to Top Model, which is currently in its tenth season, Bankable Productions is also developing a new fashion magazine-focused reality series with Project Runway developer Eli Holzman and executive producers Jane Cha and Desiree Gruber.  It is slated for a late spring/early summer premiere on The CW.

Beauty and the Geek's fifth season will premiere March 11, and Katalyst was also responsible for MTV's Punk'd, which aired it's final season last spring.

In addition, the rights to Katalyst's The Real Wedding Crashers -- a hidden camera comedy series  that aired on NBC last spring -- has been acquired by the Style Network, according to The Reporter.
