Tom Hanks has extended his run in the Broadway play "Lucky Guy" through July 3, producers announced.
Ephron was a screenwriter, director, playwright and former New York Post reporter.
Producers of "Lucky Guy" touted the play as Ephron's "return to her journalistic roots."
"Her new play is about the scandal- and graffiti-ridden New York of the 1980s, as told through the story of the charismatic and controversial tabloid columnist Mike McAlary," a news release said.
The play's producers said Thursday the show will now have 16 more performances than initially scheduled.
The cast also includes Maura Tierney, Christopher McDonald, Peter Gerety, Courtney B. Vance, Peter Scolari and Richard Masur.
Hanks and Ephron previously collaborated on the films "Sleepless in Seattle" and "You've Got Mail."
Ephron died last year of cancer. She was 71.
