Early Friday morning, atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Tom Cruise proposed to girlfriend Katie Holmes.

"Today is a magnificent day for me, I'm engaged to a magnificent woman," he told the BBC. "Something magnificent has happened to me and something extraordinary, and I'm so happy I just can't restrain myself."
Cruise, in Paris to promote his film "War Of The Worlds," was accompanied by Holmes, 26, wearing a large diamond ring.
Cruise, 42, was previously married to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, from whom he separated in 2001.
