The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner has revealed his idea of a perfect date in his current city of Indianapolis.

But Toni passed away in July 2017 from a bacterial infection, and then Gerry decided to buy a different house on the same lake, where he could still be close to his daughters and grandchildren.

On The Golden Bachelor, Gerry is down to his Final 2 bachelorettes -- Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist -- and it seems he's going to want his winner to move to Indiana, or at least spend a significant amount of time with him there.

Gerry therefore revealed where he'd take his girlfriend, or potential fiancee, on a date in Indiana.

"That would definitely be a drive down to the middle of town. I'd pick one of the good steakhouses," Gerry shared of his ideal date during a recent interview with his local Indianapolis Star newspaper.

"Then after dinner, I always had this thing I like to do on a date. I like to take the pickup truck and put the back down and ask if they would like to do a little tailgate sitting; usually look at the stars and so forth."

Gerry continued, "If a date wants to do that, I know they're probably the right gal to continue to pursue. If not, maybe it's time to keep looking."

Before The Golden Bachelor began airing on ABC, Gerry shared on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast in July how his perfect date on the show would involve good conversation and an activity of some sort.

"I would want that date to include some activities, so I know we could engage together," the 72-year-old retired restaurateur told the podcast's co-hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt.

"It'd be nice if it was an activity where I would know how well we could work together as a unit. A pickleball date or a golf date would be great. I think those things are kind of revealing of people's character."

But Gerry said a woman doesn't have to be good at sports. Instead, he was just looking to confirm that they're "on the same level" physically and she could keep up and "be competitive" with him.

On a more serious note, Gerry intended to talk about "priorities" with the women on his season very early on, and he added, "We can talk about whether or not the person is interested in being married."

Gerry discovered in his prior dating history that many women his age aren't interested in tying the knot again.

"There's many women my age that look at marriage and say you know, 'It's kind of a complication, do we need to be married to be committed to each other?' And it's an interesting thought," Gerry said.

In addition to wanting a woman to be open to marriage, Gerry shared the qualities he was hoping to find in his future partner.

Gerry explained on "Bachelor Happy Hour" how he admires strong family values in a woman -- someone who, if she has children, is very close with them.

And when it comes to his physical type, Gerry revealed, "I guess I kind of do [have a type]. I want someone that, in their own way, is fit."

Gerry elaborated, "If they're tall or short, those kind of things don't matter. It's [the idea of], 'Are they using or getting the most out of their physical attributes? Are they pushing themselves? Are they refusing to give up?'"

The Golden Bachelor alum Susan Noles recently explained why she believes Leslie Fhima and Theresa Nist were the right picks for Gerry out of his entire cast of bachelorettes.

"So as I take it all in, I think us big-personality people are not for Gerry," Susan told Extra TV when asked to reveal whom she'd choose as Gerry's best match on the show.

"I think he needs somebody that just google eyes and admires him and lets him be him -- and they're along for the ride."

The Golden Bachelor will air its two-hour finale on Thursday, November 30 on ABC.

"The finale is really wonderful... but there is also a breakup, as you see from the promos when [Gerry] is crying, and it is devastating," ABC executive Rob Mills said on the "Bachelor Party" podcast.

Rob went on to tease of the finale, "What I will say... is it will definitely be a shocking night, to say the least. I don't want to say anything more."

Rob promised that viewers will be captivated by the ending of Gerry's journey to find love for the second time in his life.

"Trust me. You will be entertained, and your jaw will be on the ground by the end," Rob concluded.

The Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer also said on Live with Kelly & Mark that the finale is going to include "the most emotional goodbye that anyone has ever seen on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise."

Jesse explained how Gerry's emotion in the finale is "as raw as it gets" and he'll certainly tug at viewer's heartstrings when either Leslie or Theresa is let go in second place.

But Gerry shared on the November 21 episode of the "Life is Short with Justin Long" podcast that his season is going to have "a very happy ending" after all.

Gerry spilled to actor Justin Long, "I enjoy how it ends. I'm completely comfortable with the way it ended. I have no second guesses. It's perfect!"
