Ray Charles and Alicia Keys dominate Grammy Awards

The late Ray Charles won five Grammys including Album of the Year and Record of the Year at the 47th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday.

Charles' final album "Genius Loves Company" won for Album of the Year. His collaboration with Norah Jones on "Here We Go Again" won two Grammys including Record of the Year. The album won eight Grammys in all, including two technical awards and one for the instrumental arrangement for Charles' duet with Johnny Mathis on "Over the Rainbow."

Charles, who died in June 2004 at 73, also won for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Gospel Performance for his duet with Gladys Knight on "Heaven Help Us All."

Alicia Keys won four Grammys including Best R&B Album for "The Diary of Alicia Keys" and Best R&B Song for "You Don't Know My Name." Keys also won for her duet on "My Boo" with Usher -- who won three Grammys including one for Best Contemporary R&B Album for "Confessions."

U2 won three Grammys for "Vertigo." John Mayer won two for "Daughters," including Song of the Year.

Maroon 5 was named Best New Artist. Green Day's "American Idiot" won for Best Rock Album.

Kanye West, who led the field with 10 nominations for his debut album "The College Dropout," picked up just two Grammys -- for Rap Album of the Year and Rap Song of the Year, "Jesus Walks."
