Former London Underground employee Tim Campbell beat out stiff competition to win a job on the British version of the reality TV show "The Apprentice."

Tycoon Alan Sugar awarded the $190,000-a-year job at electronics giant Amstrad to Campbell, 27, with a simple, "You're hired" in the climax of the popular BBC2 show.

"Wow," was Campbell's only response.

Campbell said he entered the contest to make his mother proud and be a role model for his daughter, the Daily Mirror reported.

The nice guy bested competitor Saira Khan, 34, who may have another shot at working at Amstrad.

"I'm having a chat with her shortly," Sugar said. "She's the type of person I would employ but that's a decision for her."
