The judge classified Harper as "missing and endangered" and ordered Jaime's "immediate arrest."
Jaime denied that she was on the run in a text message to the Daily Mail, writing that the FBI "has not contacted me whatsoever and Harper has done wellness checks with four officers."
An FBI spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly the bureau was aware of public information about Jaime and Harper but would not comment on whether an investigation existed.
But Erik, 45, told the Daily Mail that he feared for his son's safety. He said he wanted Harper to have a relationship with his mother but was focused on getting his son back.
"Harper's safety and well-being is my top priority right now and getting him back safely is extremely important. We have such a good relationship. I had set up a good routine for him at my home, with school and therapists and tutors and church youth groups," Erik said.
"He was really coming into his own and had a very stable life with me. I hate that he's been ripped away."
Jonathan Lewis, who represented Jaime during part of her divorce proceedings, said she should be considered innocent unless proven guilty through proper legal proceedings. He also expressed hope that Harper would be safely returned and that the matter would be resolved in the teenager's best interests.
A Facebook page called "Hope for Harper" has been created as concern about the teenager's whereabouts has grown.
Michelle Cannon Smith, who is believed to be a family friend, said Harper was last seen with his mother in Cayce, South Carolina, on August 30.
"For those in direct contact with Jaime, I have no doubts for her love of Harper," Michelle wrote on Instagram on October 1.

"The longer this goes on, the messier and more complicated it gets, and that's not in the best interest of Harper."
