People who appear on reality TV shows are not eligible for stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a Hollywood Chamber of Commerce official said Thursday.

A post on the Hollywood Walk of Fame's Facebook page asked whether someone such as Kim Kardashian could get a star, the New York Daily News reported.

"Someone asked if we give reality show characters stars? Hell to the No!" said the post, which already has 80 "likes" and overwhelmingly supportive comments.

Just because a person achieves notoriety, that doesn't mean they have the gravitas and body of achievement worthy of a star. There are criteria such as longevity in their field of entertainment, honors and industry awards, and philanthropic work, said Ana Martinez, vice president for media relations and producer for the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Those deemed worthy of a star also have to fund its creation, installation and upkeep to the tune of $30,000, the Daily News said.

So, the last word on a Kardashian getting a star?

"It's just not on the radar for us right now," Martinez said.
