Heidi Klum says age is immaterial when it comes to her boyfriend Vito Schnabel.

The 43-year-old model defended her 13-year age difference with the 30-year-old art dealer in the December issue of "Ocean Drive."

"It's not about age. We have an amazing connection, we have fun together, and we love each other," Klum told the magazine.

"It doesn't matter what people say. As long as you know when you close your door in your own home, you have an amazing time together. That's really all that matters," she said.

Klum was first linked to Schnabel in March 2014 following her split from boyfriend Martin Kristen.

She was previously married to Seal, and shares four children, Helene, Henry, Johan and Lou, with the singer.

"Obviously things have changed, but they haven't changed drastically," the model said of her post-divorce life in the November 2015 issue of Redbook.

"[Seal] was never your typical dad who left for work in the morning with his briefcase and would be home by dinnertime every night. He traveled a lot. The kids knew it was part of his job. I'm a mom and a dad at the same time," she said.
