Elton John apparently isn't one of the "superstars" clamoring for Simon Cowell's American Idol judging seat.

"He is not going to be a judge," John's representative told Gossip Cop on Thursday.

The representative was responding to a Wednesday appearance TMZ managing editor Harvey Levin made on American Idol host Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show.

"I know who should replace Simon," said Levin. "Elton John."

"That's a good idea," replied Seacrest. "They kind of fill the same void -- if you think about Simon's personality and Elton's personality -- on so many levels."

In addition, TMZ also reported that an American Idol source claimed "talk on the set" was that John would be the replacement -- however Seacrest himself dispelled that rumor.

"I want to tell you and everybody listening that there has not been any conversation on the set about a replacement," said Seacrest. "No one has gotten to the place of, 'Let's talk about this person or that person to be the replacement.'"

Cowell inked a deal with Fox on Monday that will end his American Idol judging role while also launching his British The X Factor reality competition series for the network in Fall 2011.

He subsequently suggested that Seacrest should pull double duty, which a show insider told E! News was "in play."

While Fox has remained mum on a possible replacement, American Idol creator Simon Fuller recently stated he's received numerous calls and that "everyone's interested" in Cowell's soon-to-be-former position.
