Ghost Hunters' sixth-season debut will also represent the reality series' 100th episode, which will air as part of a live, two-hour, interactive broadcast hosted by Destination Truth star Josh Gates.

The episode will follow TAPS founders and real-life plumbers Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, their investigation team, and Ghost Hunters International stars Barry FitzGerald and Dustin Pari as they travel to San Francisco to explore paranormal activity at Alacatraz.

SyFy renewed Ghost Hunters, which is produced by Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Films and Television production company, for a sixth season in December 2008.

In addition to Ghost Hunters' sixth season, SyFy announced that new Destination Truth episodes will begin airing Wednesdays at 10PM ET/PT beginning March 17.

Destination Truth's St. Patrick's Day-themed March 17 episode will follow Gates and his crew as they travel to Ireland in search of the leprechaun. Additional episodes will follow the crew as they travel to the U.S., Jordan, Israel, China, New Zealand and Chile to answer some of the world's greatest mysteries and myths.
