Ghost Hunters viewers won't have to wait long between the reality series' eighth and ninth seasons.

Syfy has announced Ghost Hunters' the ninth season will premiere January 16 at 9PM ET/PT with the first of  16 all-new episodes.

"Ghost Hunters has proven itself to be an enormously popular paranormal series that continues to evolve successfully with each new season," Syfy executive Mark Stern said in a statement.

"While the Ghost Hunters mission of helping those in need remains at the heart of each investigation, we're thrilled by the increased scope of the cases being undertaken and the series' revitalized style and energy, all of which contribute to making Ghost Hunters an even more vibrant, visually stimulating and exciting experience going into its ninth season."

The long-running reality series' upcoming season will continue to feature the TAPS team, The Atlantic Paranormal Society, using the latest innovative equipment, techniques and technology to capture evidence of paranormal activity. Led by Jason Hawes, TAPS will investigate notorious locations around the country and assist families looking for answers.

Syfy debuted 14 new eighth-season episodes of Ghost Hunters in early September. The show's eighth season will conclude on December 5 with a special holiday investigation at the Mark Twain House in Hartford, CT.

Ghost Hunters is produced by Craig Piligian's Pilgrim Studios with Piligian, Thomas Thayer, Mike Nichols, and Alan David serving as executive producers.
