Spears, 25, made an emergency appeal to expand visitation rights for her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, 29.

Scott Gordon, a Los Angeles County Court commissioner, declined to rule on Spears' appeal, but extended her visitation rights and granted the estranged couple the opportunity to settle the dispute out of court, Voice of America reports.

Neither Spears nor her representatives were available for comment. However, Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, agreed to the modified visitation rights.

Spears is expected to release her latest album, "Blackout," Oct. 30, up from its original Nov. 13 date amidst several online leaks of the album, People magazine says.
