The Sun-Herald of Melbourne said in its Sunday edition the 30-year-old primary school teacher withdrew from "Idol" competition, leaving four competitors for this season's amateur singing crown.

"At this stage I do not want a career in music and these four people do," Moulton said.

Moulton said he had been considering leaving the TV competition for several weeks, but finally made the decision after going for a walk in Sydney on Saturday.

"I just knew in my heart I couldn't keep going, it's a really hard thing to put into words," he said.

"At the moment my future's back at home," he added.

The Sun-Herald said as a result of Moulton withdrawing from competition, no one was eliminated in the last episode of "Idol."
