Wipeout's fifth season will include both winter and summer editions -- which will feature new camera technology, according to ABC -- and air during the 2011-2012 television season. John Anderson and John Henson will continue to serve as the show's hosts.

Minnillo, whose prior credits include hosting ABC's canceled True Beauty reality competition, will be replacing Jill Wagner, who has co-hosted Wipeout since it debuted in 2008.

"We will miss Jill but are thrilled to welcome Vanessa to the team and excited to bring her enthusiasm to the show. She is a great host with a fun and natural energy that our viewers will love," Wipeout creator Matt Kunitz said in a statement.

Wagner had announced her Wipeout departure in April.

"After four seasons of co-hosting Wipeout, I have been given the opportunity to pursue new directions in my acting career, which I am very passionate about," Wagner Wipeout-1031727.aspx">told TV Guide Magazine at the time.

"I am extremely grateful to all those at Wipeout, Endemol and ABC, who have been so supportive of me through these years."

Wipeout's fourth summer-season premiere will air on Thursday, June 23 at 8PM ET/PT, following a "special sneak peek" on Tuesday, June 21 at 8PM ET/PT.

Wipeout is produced by Endemol USA and executive produced by Kunitz and Scott Larsen with Shye Sutherland, Kevin Wehrenberg, Trice Barto, and J. Rupert Thompson serving as co-executive producers.
