ABC's 'Desperate Housewives' lead Golden Globes Awards field

The new ABC hit "Desperate Housewives" led the TV field with five nominations Monday for Golden Globe Awards.

In addition to a nomination for best musical or comedy series, the show also received four acting nominations -- for Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman and Nicolette Sheridan.
HBO's crime family drama, "The Sopranos," had four nominations -- including best TV drama and acting nominations for Edie Falco, Drea de Matteo and Michael Imperioli. The HBO movie "The Life and Death of Peter Sellers" also had four nominations -- including best miniseries or TV movie, and acting nominations for Geoffrey Rush, Charlize Theron and Emily Watson.
The F/X series "Nip/Tuck," NBC's comedy "Will & Grace" and the made-for-TV movies "Iron Jawed Angels" and "The Lion in Winter" had three nominations each.
In addition to "The Sopranos," the nominees for best drama series are "24,""Deadwood,""Lost" and "Nip/Tuck." Besides "Desperate Housewives," the nominees for musical or comedy series are "Arrested Development,""Entourage,""Sex and the City" and "Will & Grace."
