Utopia changed the rules once again and eliminated three pioneers during Friday night's broadcast of the new Fox reality series.

Bri Nyugen, a 20-year-old single veterinary technician, student and farmer from Westminster, CA, decided to quit the show after America nominated her for exile. Mike Quinn, a 33-year-old single attorney from New York, NY, also chose to leave the show due to a sudden family emergency.

The pioneers later voted Rob Hospidor, a 38-year-old engaged security programmer, hunter and fisherman from South Amboy, NJ, out of utopia. Rob was ousted from the series instead of fellow nominee Aaron Thomas, a 26-year-old single private chef from Jackson, MS.

At the beginning of the episode, Utopia's cast learned home viewers would be nominating three pioneers for exile who weren't pulling their weight or reaching their full potential in the utopian lifestyle. It would then be up to the Utopians to determine which of the three least-contributing people they should exile and replace with two newcomers -- one of whom would get to stay for good.

Amanda Scott revealed to the group America had selected the following three candidates for replacement: Aaron, Bri and Rob. The pioneers would have a couple of days to make their decision.

However, Bri quit the show before she could even be voted out of utopia because she simply wasn't satisfied with her experience.

"The fact I was put up for replacement by America made it seem like America doesn't care and I'm just wasting my time. I want to tell the Utopians just that I wish you guys could believe in each other and believe in the project. It's really bigger than ourselves," Bri said after she left the gates of utopia.

During a Halloween party, Mike got troubling news from home that involved his mother. He was informed by his father that he needed to get home immediately because of something serious. Mike's father offered no additional details about the situation, so Mike assumed his mom had gotten into an accident of some kind.

With Bri and Mike gone, the remaining pioneers were still forced to vote one of themselves off the show. The decision came down to Aaron or Rob, and Rob was exiled via a 6-5 vote.

Although many pioneers cried and got emotional, Rob insisted it was "a good thing" he could go home to his fiancee.
