The 62-year-old designer, who is mom to singers Beyonce Knowles and Solange Knowles, announced she'll be taking a break from social media after "accidentally" liking a comment about Hudson's "horrible" singing.

"I am writing this commentary for Jennifer Hudson and not for the evil mean people that are making this into a social media ugly thing. I've known Jennifer Hudson for many years and would never ever say anything negative about her or agree with anything negative!" Knowles wrote.

"My children worried that I might accidentally touch something when looking at other sites and have warned me about it. They always say that I am not that great on social media I have to be very careful. and somehow maybe I touched a button," she explained.

Social media users had captured screenshots of Knowles liking a comment that read "Jhud sounds horrible."

An Instagram user had made the remark on a video of Beyonce and Hudson performing at the 2007 Academy Awards.

"I came across the video of [Beyonce] and Jennifer (which I totally enjoyed) and I was looking at them I didn't even look at the comments or what people were saying till just now. and I absolutely would not have touched a like or dislike on one of these sites," Knowles said.

"I think if you look through my Instagram you'll see that I am not a hater and I am not negative about people so to Jennifer for my mistake of accidentally touching it which I don't remember doing I really apologize I totally love and admire you," she added. "I will be taking a break from social media as this is the bad side of it."

Beyonce and Hudson co-starred in the 2006 movie "Dreamgirls," which earned Hudson an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Beyonce had denied rumors of a feud with Hudson after some suggested she was resentful of the singer's starring role.

"It's really unfortunate that everyone is saying I'm jealous of Jennifer. It hearts my heart because it's so cliched," she told reporters in 2006. "Because I'm a star they just automatically assume that I'm not humble enough to sit down and take a back seat, which I am."
