The Bachelor star Matt James will have a beautiful cast of women to meet on Night 1, and ABC has revealed the identities of 43 diverse women who may compete for his heart on Season 25.

ABC has announced 43 bachelorettes who "may" have a chance to meet and date Matt on The Bachelor's 25th season, which is expected to begin filming any day now and premiere in January 2021.

The network went about things in a similar way when 42 bachelors were announced for Clare's season in July and then her official cast of 31 bachelors for Season 16 was released in September.

ABC revealed names, bios and photos for 43 women early Tuesday morning on Facebook, and the photos display a variety of backgrounds apparently indicating the photos were not taken at the same location by the same photographer.

"We are giving you an early look at the women who may be on this season of #TheBachelor in 2021! Leave a [rose emoji] for who would get your first impression rose," The Bachelor's official Facebook page wrote.

The inclusion of the word "may" suggests a portion of the 43 women -- which is a much larger group of ladies than the show typically starts with (around 30) -- will not actually appear on Matt's season of The Bachelor.

It's likely a bunch of extra potential bachelorettes were invited to Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Pennsylvania, where Season 16 of The Bachelor will film, in case anyone tests positive for coronavirus during the pre-production quarantine period.

According to Reality Steve spoiler blogger Steve Carbone, producers did the same for Clare's The Bachelorette season at La Quinta Resort & Club in Palm Springs, CA.

Matt arrived at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort around September 23, when he officially signed off social media.

"See y'all in a few months," Matt wrote in his Instagram Stories, before giving a shout-out to his best friend Tyler Cameron and wishing The Bachelorette alum Hannah Brown a happy birthday.

"@tylerjcameron3 what a crazy 6 months, I love you brother, wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you [and] your mama," Matt continued, referencing Tyler's mother Andrea Cameron, who unexpectedly passed away from a brain aneurysm in March at age 55.

"Oh & I'll be back, with a plus one," the real estate broker and ABC Food Tours founder added.

The Bachelor host Chris Harrison confirmed to Access earlier this month production of Matt's season hasn't started yet, but Carbone reported in late September filming will begin on October 10.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it's assumed Matt's The Bachelor season will be filmed at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort all season long given it would be risky -- and in some cases, not possible -- to travel around the U.S. and internationally.

"Matt James is going to be an amazing Bachelor," Harrison gushed to Access.

"I think these women are going to be lucky to have a guy like this to fall in love with, and we're lucky to have him as our Bachelor. He's the kind of guy that The Bachelor was built on, that diamond in the rough... I think we are going to really have a blast shooting with him."

Matt was initially selected to compete for Clare's heart on The Bachelorette's sixteenth season, but ABC chose to promote him and announce him as the Bachelor prematurely instead.

Matt's The Bachelor casting announcement was made in mid-June on Good Morning America.

Matt will be the first black The Bachelor star ever. ABC has cast only one black lead, Season 13 The Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay, in 40 seasons and 18 years of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette prior to Matt.

ABC reality chief Robert Mills told Ryan Seacrest during a late June appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest that The Bachelor had already seen a "record-setting pace" of 6,500 applicants for Matt's season by that point, which he called "fantastic."

Matt's official and final set of bachelorettes who will star on The Bachelor's 25th season will be confirmed at a later date.
