The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart premiered with love triangles developing, genuine connections being made, an epic musical date for Jamie and Ryan at Capitol Records, and the first Rose Ceremony of the season during Monday night's premiere episode on ABC.

The season's first Rose Ceremony resulted in four bachelors getting eliminated: Jack, a 38-year-old from Dallas, TX; Josh, a 31-year-old from Nashville, TN; Michael Todd, a 31-year-old from Atwater, CA; and Russell, a 26-year-old from New York, NY.

The debut broadcast of The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart began with host Chris Harrison saying 20 singles, who all share a passion for music and were looking for their soul mate, would move into a mansion and try to couple up or else face elimination.

"Will a shared love of music lead to a love that's shared forever?" Harrison teased.

But first, viewers were introduced to some of the new show's sexy singles.

Brandon Mills, a 34-year-old in private security detail from Louisville, KY, spent four years in the Marine Corps and operated as a sniper. Brandon wrote songs as a form of therapy when he served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he said he was looking for The One and wanted to build a life and start a family.

Bri, a 28-year-old waitress from Provo, UT, said spending time with her niece and nephew shaped what she was looking for in a man. About a year and a half before filming, she was engaged but the guy apparently got scared -- and so she gave her engagement ring back.

Sheridan, a 27-year-old musician from Austin, TX, gushed about loving his hats and Subaru. Sheridan hoped to find a co-pilot for his car that he named Sheila, and he was looking forward to potentially building a deep connection through music.

Bekah, a 25-year-old executive assistant from Washington, D.C., said she doesn't exist without musical theater and she's meant to be a performer. Bekah believed she deserves love, and she wanted a big, strong man who's an incredible musician.

Gabe Baker, a 28-year-old community organizer from Houston, TX, is a big sports guy who loves music and has a strong faith in God. Gabe wanted to get married to someone who would be compatible with him "musically and spiritually."

Savannah, a 25-year-old yoga instructor from Nashville, TN, said she's "a free spirit" and "wild child," but she was looking for a powerful connection with a man who's in touch with his emotions.

Trevor Holmes, a 29-year-old in social media marketing from Thousand Oaks, CA, told the cameras he was searching for someone "loyal" who would enjoy going on walks with his dog.

"I would describe myself as a romantic guy. I've never dated another musician... I think if you find somebody else you can click with romantically and you can click with musically, I don't think there's anything better than that," Trevor said.

Trevor previously auditioned for American Idol, and judge Katy Perry called him "so hot."

Trevor wanted to find a woman who could inspire him, and he dreamed of touring with a girl one day with whom he has intense chemistry.

Jamie, a 21-year-old hostess from Nashville, TN, said her dating life had been "dismal." Jamie said she had been cheated on by every guy she had been in a relationship with and she was looking for Mr. Perfect, a sweet and genuine man who could write a song about her.

Chris Harrison was then shown greeting all of the cast members as they moved into a massive mansion.

Jamie first met Ryan, a 28-year-old ophthalmic technician from Dearborn Heights, MI, who was immediately attracted to her smile. Ryan called her "beautiful," and Jamie thought he was "really cute."

Ryan hoped to chill with Jamie and be alone with her for a little bit, but then Matt, a 32-year-old musician from Milford, CT, showed up. Matt apparently didn't even know Chris Harrison's last name, so he's clearly not a The Bachelor fan.

Savannah then arrived and told the cameras her confidence can often be intimidating to other people. She said men come to her and she weeds them out.

Jamie said she was not on the show for drama, and Savannah noted she didn't sign up to play games.

Mel, a 27-year-old waitress from Brooklyn, NY, arrived next, and she admitted she's really shy around guys. She worried about crashing and burning.

As people continued to arrive, Jamie and Ryan were still focused on one another.

Ryan revealed he suffered from seizures young and had brain surgery, which gave him a new outlook on life. Jamie was impressed Ryan found something beautiful out of that struggle, and she felt butterflies in his presence.

Rudi, a 24-year-old studio vocalist from San Antonio, TX, joked about how she falls in love all the time and pretty much dated all the men in Los Angeles. She was looking for "one of the good ones."

Just as Jamie was hitting it off with Ryan and was very impressed with him and their connection, Trevor walked in and caught Jamie's eye. Rudi could tell Jamie's energy shifted to Trevor.

Trevor thought Jamie was stunning and charming, and he was taken with her right off the bat.

Trevor felt the world disappeared in Jamie's presence, and she said on a similar note she felt so comfortable with him and no one else seemed to exist when they were with each other.

Meanwhile, Rudi got to know Matt better. She thought he was very attractive and had "the biggest arms in the house."

Michael Todd showed up next and immediately started singing for people about his "hot touch." He was drawn to Savannah, but after a few moments of talking, he blurted out, "I like your lips -- a lot."

Michael Todd then went in for a kiss, but he totally turned Savannah off.

"It's not only Night 1 but we are in Hour 1!" Savannah complained to the cameras.

Russell also arrived, but neither Jamie or Rudi seemed interested in him.

"A rainbow of music" entered the mansion one by one, according to Matt, including Chris, a 30-year-old from Los Angeles, CA, and Jack.

Matt called Josh a "young and jacked Mr. Clean."

Ryan, a 27-year-old musician from Austin, TX, was convinced he would stand out in the group because he was sporting long hair, a long beard and a flat-brimmed hat.

Julia, a 27-year-old patient advocate from Philadelphia, PA, then arrived, followed by Bekah, a 25-year-old from Washington, D.C., and Bri, a 28-year-old from Provo, UT.

Bri thought the mansion was beautiful and would be a magical place to fall in love. Brandon was the last man to walk into the party, and he noted there were a lot of attractive women in the mansion.

Harrison got the cocktail party started and told the cast, "The center of everything we do is love, and that's really the most important thing we're doing here."

Harrison explained there would be romantic dates each week as well as Rose Ceremonies. There were 12 men on the show and only eight women, so four men would be going home on Night 1.

"The prospect of making music is really exciting to me, so I'm open to seeing where this whole experience could lead," Matt said in a confessional.

Julia was so relieved to have the power this week, but with that came a lot of responsibility and a potentially hard decision.

When the women talked amongst themselves, Rudi revealed she liked Matt. And as the men conversed as a group, Matt shared how he thought Rudi and Mel were both sweet, beautiful girls.

Sheridan told the cameras that Julia definitely caught his eye, and Julia told the girls he looked "so sweet" and like "such a doll." Savannah was tired of being burned by a man's looks, so she was apparently looking for something deeper.

Brandon thought Savannah was stunning, gorgeous and engaging, but he said he connected with Julia right off the bat.

Sheridan called Julia "a hot commodity," so he quickly stole her away in order to get some time alone with her. Julia revealed to Sheridan she had been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis before she was born and so she created a non-profit involving music therapy.

Sheridan joked he was an under-achiever compared to her, but he was totally taken with her.

"Coming here, this is exactly what I was hoping for but not expecting. We're having a really intense, intimate and deep conversation, and I can't imagine it going better," Sheridan said in a confessional.

But Brandon stole Julia away from Sheridan, who acknowledged Julia had said he wasn't her typical type.

Brandon went in for a kiss with Julia, as Chris and Cheyenne, a 23-year-old from Lawndale, CA, sang a duet at the piano.

The guys were making moves, and Matt said he had a connection immediately with Rudi. The pair went into the hot tub together, and Rudi admitted to Matt that she liked him.

Matt asked Rudi if she judged a man on how he kisses, and with that being said, he attempted to get a kiss. However, Rudi said she didn't want to force it and potentially ruin their connection, but being rejected confused Matt.

Meanwhile, Jamie felt torn between Ryan and Trevor. Ryan thought they shared very similar characteristics, calling her "fun and outgoing," and Jamie thought Ryan had a very pretty face.

The couple kissed and Jamie acknowledged she was connecting with Ryan the most. However, her conversation with Trevor was flowing, and she said they had so much in common.

Ryan sat at the piano and played for everyone, and Julia called him "wildly talented," which he found attractive.

As Ryan enjoyed the company of the group, Trevor stole his girl and took her into the hot tub, where they shared their first kiss.

"I definitely think [Jamie and I] could find love here, and I hope she feels the same way," Ryan told the cameras.

Jamie thought both Ryan and Trevor were amazing, genuine guys, and she found herself very confused.

The next day, Trevor said he woke up thinking about Jamie. He loved how she was bubbly and cute but also had depth to her, so he was a little nervous given Ryan was still in the picture.

A Date Card then arrived for Ryan, and he invited Jamie out on a date. Trevor was jealous and on the edge of his seat, wondering if he was going to fade into the background now that Jamie and Ryan would have a whole day to grow their bond.

Jamie and Ryan were driven to Capitol Records, where they met John Alagia, a Grammy-nominated producer who has worked with John Mayer, Jason Mraz and Dave Matthews.

Jamie and Ryan were told they'd be working on one of John Mayer's iconic songs, "Gravity." Ryan grew up idolizing John Mayer, so he admitted he felt like "a school girl" and was "totally freaking out."

Jamie was feeling nervous and overwhelmed, but Ryan worked hard to make her feel comfortable and settle her into the song. He even changed the key for her so the song would better suit her range.

Back at the mansion, Bri told the girls she was interested in Chris and thought he was great.

Rudi could also see herself with Matt, so she was regretting not kissing him the previous night. Rudi looked forward to talking to Matt and telling him how she felt, but then the second Date Card arrived and it was for Matt.

Rudi had no doubt Matt was going to take her on the date, and she said he'd be getting her rose.

But much to Rudi's shock and dismay, Matt asked Mel out. Matt found Mel beautiful and easy to talk to, but Rudi was "pissed" because she said she genuinely liked her.

Rudi felt played by Matt, venting to the cameras about how she didn't know what he was thinking.

Back on Jamie and Ryan's date, the couple recorded "Gravity" together and she thought it was sexy watching Ryan sing. Jamie said the collaboration definitely upped the romance between them and it turned out to be "an emotional experience."

"My connection with him is way more than I expected. I've never had a first date like this. It's wild," Jamie told the cameras.

Jamie and Ryan soaked in a sunset after their date and shared a passionate kiss on a rooftop.

That night, Chris said he was "vibing" with Bri and saw "real potential" for something that could be "fantastic" between them. The pair held hands, and Chris said he was trying to find the balance of pursuing his music as well as a romantic relationship.

Bri promised to sing for Chris the next day, and it was clear they were matched up.

When Jamie and Ryan returned from their date, the rest of the cast was so jealous of their experience. Trevor was envious and didn't like seeing Jamie and Ryan together, so he knew he had his work cut out for him.

Rudi then admitted to Savannah and Bekah that she was really annoyed with Matt because he had allegedly told her, "I want to take you out on a date." Rudi felt confused and jealous and hoped Matt and Mel's date would turn out terrible.

For their date, Matt and Mel enjoyed a private outdoor concert by The Plain White Tees. It was "a pinch-me-moment" for Mel and an exciting opportunity for Matt, but there didn't appear to be sparks between the pair.

"It's just not fun to have to deal with rejection. Like, what did I do wrong?" Rudi cried.

It then became time for the cocktail party preceding the season's first Rose Ceremony.

Bekah and Danny, a 26-year-old from Sherman Oaks, CA, seemed "pretty solid," according to Sheridan, as well as Savannah and Brandon, and Chris and Bri.

Harrison entered the room and Trevor revealed he was feeling stressed because he had focused solely on his connection with Jamie. Harrison reiterated how four men would be eliminated by the end of the night.

Rudi admitted she was annoyed whenever she saw Matt's face because he had asked her out and then rejected her. Rudi didn't appreciate Matt playing games.

Julia connected with Josh that night, which worried Sheridan, who caught the couple kissing at one point. Sheridan therefore interrupted the kiss and performed a song for Julia in attempt to put himself out there and win her over.

Julia gushed about how the song was "amazing" and "so special," and then Sheridan got a kiss.

As Mel connected with Gabe, a 28-year-old from Houston, TX, Matt circled back to Rudi to rekindle some magic with her and find out where she stood -- but Rudi wasn't having it.

Rudi reminded Matt how he had asked her out on a date, but Matt didn't remember saying that. Matt said he was trying to figure things out at that time, but Rudi insisted Matt had gone back on his word.

"If I worded it poorly, I'm sorry," Matt said.

"You worded it in the worst way possible," Rudi replied, before breaking down into tears. "I was most drawn to you and you pulled that sh-t on me."

Matt admitted he thought he was supposed to get to know multiple women and he didn't even know what was going on. Rudi was extremely mad and said Matt had made her look like "a dumbass in front of everyone," so Matt was blown away and felt chewed out.

"I feel like I just went 12 rounds with Mike Tyson," Matt vented to the guys.

"She wanted to murder me! It was aggressive! I hope Rudi doesn't go and badmouth me to every other girl in the house because then I'm going home. I'm pretty sure I'm screwed."

But Rudi did just that.

Jamie then told Ryan that they connected musically and romantically and he had "a perfect face," but then Trevor stole her away and played a song for her on his guitar. Trevor insisted he just wanted to spend more time with her and wasn't trying to win her rose.

Jamie said she felt very comfortable around Trevor but couldn't always tell what he was thinking. She said he made her nervous in a weird way.

Trevor got another kiss from Jamie, and she broke down into tears later on. Jamie cried about how she didn't trust herself at all and she found this decision "so hard" because she didn't want to leave this process with any regrets.

"I don't want to make the wrong decision, and I just feel like I always do," Jamie said in a confessional. "I'm so confused."

When the Rose Ceremony commenced, all of the guys were feeling some real pressure.

Multiple connections had blossomed for multiple girls, so some tough decisions were ahead of the women.

"A bit of advice, ladies, listen to your heart," Harrison announced to the group.

Savannah started the Rose Ceremony off by giving her rose to Brandon, and she said what they had was "really special."

Mel offered her rose to Gabe, so Matt was convinced he was going home.

Bekah gave her rose to Danny, and then Bri asked Chris to accept her rose.

Cheyenne handed out her rose to Matt, which was a big surprise for the whole group. Cheyenne told Matt, "Sometimes, you just have to take a chance."

Julia gave her rose to Sheridan, and then Jamie offered her rose to Trevor, who insisted he was being genuine and he was ready to give Jamie his heart.

"On paper, Ryan is perfect. But at the end of the day, I can't help how I feel, and I just love being around Trevor," Jamie explained.

Ryan had put all of his eggs into Jamie's basket, but another shock of the night was when Rudi decided to offer her rose to Ryan so he could continue on this journey.

Since Ryan seemed like such a great guy, Rudi said she could see herself falling for him for sure.

And Savannah said she believed in Brandon "both as a man and a musician" and she couldn't wait to sing with him.
