The Amazing Race featured "Siblings" Han Nguyen and Holden Nguyen surviving a non-elimination leg during the Season 37 episode that aired Wednesday night on CBS.

Han and Holden arrived at the Pit Stop in Naples, Italy in fifth -- and last -- place, but The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan informed them it was a non-elimination leg and they could continue racing.

The Amazing Race episode began with teams flying out of Bulgaria to Naples, Italy.

"Married Vegas performers" Brett Hamby and Mark Romain left the Pit Stop in Bulgaria in first place at 12:17AM. "Married nurse anesthetists" Alyssa Borden and Josiah Borden were running in second place at 2:03AM.

There were only five teams left at this point, and everyone ended up in the airport at the same time. All five teams hopped on the same flight to Naples, which leveled the playing field in Italy.

Once the plane landed, everyone rushed to Castel Sant'elmo, a military stronghold strategically built to protect Naples.

Han and Holden received their next clue in first place, and they were instructed to rub the nose of the Pulcinella Statue with both hands for good luck in order to receive their next clue.

"Married parents" Jonathan Towns and Ana Towns were right on Han and Holden's heels, but the other teams weren't far behind.

It was a close race to the statue, but Brett and Mark got there first. "Best friends and gamers" Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge ripped open their clue in second place. Alyssa and Josiah got there third.

Jonathan, Ana, Han, and Holden had trouble navigating the streets and finding their way to the stature, and so they fell behind the pack.

Once everyone rubbed the statue, it became time for a Detour task: "Mandolin" or "Mozzarella."

"Mandolin" required teams to bring a mandolin to life by adding the final pieces. Once it was music to the ears, they'd receive their next clue.

"Mozzarella" required teams to stretch, mold and braid creamy mozzarella. They had to create six flawless braids of the correct weight.

Brett and Mark, Carson and Jack, and Alyssa and Josiah all chose to take on the cheese task.

Jonathan and Ana picked the musical task, and then Han and Holden -- racing in fifth place -- chose to twist some mozzarella.

Carson and Jack finished the Detour in first place and proceeded to The Montesanto Quarter on foot, but Han and Holden were struggling with the task in last place.

Jonathan and Ana found their next clue in first place and were required to go grocery shopping for a local resident. By pulling up a bucket attached to a rope, the Racers could deliver produce, sausages and bread to one of the houses on the street without using stairs.

Carson and Jack got a little lost at this stage in the game, and so they hoped to make up time.

All the teams were working on their grocery orders at the same time except for Han and Holden.

Jonathan and Ana finished their grocery delivery in first place, with Brett and Mark right behind them.

After successfully completing the grocery task, teams had to travel by car to Ristorante da Ettore.

Brett and Mark raced against Carson and Jack to the next cluebox, and the clue inside asked, "Who's feeling saucy?!"

This Roadblock task required participating Racers to make a pizza from scratch. After stretching the dough into shape, they had to top it with marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, basil, and olive oil before cooking it at 900 degrees.

Once a pizza was ready for delivery, a team could bring it with them to the Pit Stop of the ninth leg of The Amazing Race at Castel Nuovo.

Carson opted to try the Roadblock task, and he was joined by Brett, Ana, Alyssa, and Ana finished the task quickly because she used to work at a pizzeria in high school. She said she had made about 1,000 pizzas in her life.

Brett made a pretty perfect pizza in second place, but Carson was shown ruining several pizzas. Carson ripped his dough or didn't make them circular enough.

"It was hard to make the pizza!" Carson vented. "I am feeling regret from doing this."

Jonathan and Ana met Phil Keoghan in first place at the Pit Stop, and they won a trip to Mexico City in Mexico.

Ana said she and Jonathan were reminded that they "still have it."

Brett and Mark stepped on the Pit Stop mat in second place.

After Alyssa and Josiah left the Roadblock, Carson was still working on his pizza when Han and Holden arrived.

However, Carson got the job done and raced to the Pit Stop while Han, a self-declared perfectionist, was making her first pizza. Han and Holden were well aware that they were in last place.

Alyssa and Josiah completed the ninth leg in third place, and then Carson and Jack arrived at the Pit Stop in fourth place.

Han and Holden therefore met Phil in fifth -- and last -- place, but Phil had a surprise for them.

"This is a non-elimination leg!" Phil announced. "And you are still in the Race!"

Han and Holden were the first team in seasons to be graced with a non-elimination leg, and they said they felt "conviction" and "drive" heading into the tenth leg.
