The "Friends and YouTube Hosts" became the sixth team eliminated from the around-the-world competition after they arrived at the Race's ninth Pit Stop at Niddry Street South, a cobblestone alleyway in Edinburgh, Scotland, in last place.

"We made it so far! I'm really proud of you," Meghan told Joey following their ouster.

"I'm so proud of us. We made it a lot farther than I thought we were going to. I've grown so much throughout this Race and it's been an incredible experience. It's been the best time of my life," Joey added.

The tenth episode of The Amazing Race's 22nd edition began with "Newlyweds" Max Bichler and Katie Bichler departing the eighth Pit Stop at Kurfurstendamm, which is known as the Fifth Avenue of Berlin, Germany, in first place at 2:02AM.

Following Max and Katie were Joey and Meghan at 2:49AM, "Friends and Country Singers" Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Kuhle at 3:44AM, "Hockey Brothers" Bates Battaglia and Anthony Battaglia at 4:20AM, and "Roller Derby Moms" Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere at 4:21AM.

The teams' first set of clues instructed them to fly across the North Sea to Edinburgh, Scotland, and then upon landing, pick up a vehicle and drive to the Gosford House where they'd receive their next clue. The clue warned there would be a Double U-Turn ahead in which two teams could choose to force two other teams to complete the other side of the upcoming Detour task.

The teams met up at the airport eventually because nothing opened until 5AM. Max and Katie discovered a very early flight arriving in Edinburgh at 10:40AM. For some reason, the other teams knew nothing about that first available flight. Therefore, everyone thought their only option was a flight landing in Scotland at 1PM the next day.

When the teams tried to book seats on that flight, Joey and Meghan and Mona and Beth snagged the last tickets. When Caroline and Jennifer and Bates and Anthony found out that flight was sold out, they were discouraged at first and believed they were going to get stuck on a flight arriving at their destination at 4PM the next day.

But the Race then took a sharp turn in the country girls and hockey brothers' favor. Bates and Anthony discovered the flight Max and Katie were on, and so Caroline and Jennifer followed suit and both pairs purchased tickets.

Max and Katie, Bates and Anthony, and Caroline and Jennifer all agreed they wanted to U-Turn Joey and Meghan and Mona and Beth depending on who got there first.

Meanwhile, Joey and Meghan and Mona and Beth -- who were in an alliance together against the majority -- were thrilled about their flight time, thinking they were well ahead of the pack by several hours. Unfortunately for the two couples, they realized they would be racing to avoid last place upon landing when they saw only two Race vehicles remaining in the parking lot.

Max and Katie were the first team to arrive at the Gosford House, and they were soon followed by Bates and Anthony, Caroline and Jennifer, Mona and Beth, and Joey and Meghan.

It then became time for the teams to complete a Roadblock task.

For the Roadblock, one member of each team had to work with an instructor and learn how to play a harmonizing note on a set of bagpipes while marching around the marble room of the Gosford House. When the instructor was satisfied with a Racer's performance, he or she would receive the next clue.

Max opted to take on the task for his team, and he was soon joined by Bates, Caroline, Mona, and Meghan.

Max and Bates seemed to breeze through the challenge, but Caroline really struggled and broke down into tears at one point. However, Caroline and Jennifer still managed to finish the task in third place after seven attempts. They were then followed by Mona and Beth and Joey and Meghan.

The teams' next set of clues instructed them to search the fireplaces at Craigmillar Castle for their next clue.

Bates and Anthony arrived at the castle in first place and were followed by Max and Katie, Caroline and Jennifer, Mona and Beth, and Joey and Meghan.

Once at the castle, Mona and Beth learned they had to complete a Speed Bump task before they could move forward as a penalty for coming in last place in the previous non-elimination leg.

The Speed Bump task required Mona and Beth to play Skittles, which is very similar to bowling in the United States except the big ball does not have finger holes. One of them had to successfully knock down all the pins in one roll to finish the task, which is commonly known as a strike.

As for the rest of the teams, the clue at the castle told them they must complete one of two Detour tasks: "Tasty Puddin'" or "Whiskey Rollin.'"

"Tasty Puddin'" required the teams to use an ox's intestine and fill it with assorted internal organs, seasonings and oats. Once each team member properly prepared four portions of the meat, they'd get a taste and their next clue.

"Whiskey Rollin'" required the teams to deliver eight whiskey barrels 200 yards up a cobblestone alleyway to a festival. Once they delivered all the barrels, a Scottish dancer would hand them their next clue.

Bates and Anthony opted to take on the "Whiskey" task, while all the other teams attempted the "Puddin'" one.

Even with the Speed Bump task, Mona and Beth and Joey and Meghan ended up getting their Detour clues at the same time.

Bates and Anthony were the first team to complete the Detour task. They were then followed by Max and Katie, Caroline and Jennifer, Mona and Beth, and finally Joey and Meghan.

Their next clue instructed them to make their way to Duddingston Kirk, where they'd earn another clue.

Once at Duddingston Kirk, the Double U-Turn board was awaiting the teams. Bates and Anthony got to it first and chose to U-Turn Joey and Meghan. Max and Katie got to the board in second place and selected Mona and Beth to complete the other side of the Detour -- although they admitted they'd like to see Joey and Meghan go home first.

Mona and Beth arrived at the board next and learned their fate. Joey and Meghan got to Duddingston Kirk in last place and discovered they had also been U-Turned, which was frustrating for them.

The leg's last clue instructed the teams to make their way to Niddry Street South, which would serve as the Race's ninth Pit Stop.

Before checking in, Mona and Beth and Joey and Meghan had to complete the "Whiskey" side of the Detour, and in the end, Mona and Beth got it done first.

Max and Katie got to the Pit Stop mat and greeted The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan in first place. For finishing the leg before any of the other teams, Max and Katie each won $10,000.

Bates and Anthony subsequently arrived in second place. They were followed shortly thereafter by Caroline and Jennifer. Mona and Beth then secured fourth place and Joey and Meghan stepped on the mat in fifth -- and last -- place. Phil then told Joey and Meghan they had been eliminated from the Race.
