Spike TV says it has ordered a 20-episode second season of its U.S. reality series "Auction Hunters."

The order is the largest for a second season of an original series in Spike's history, the cable network said Wednesday.

The announcement was made by Sharon Levy, Spike TV's executive vice president of original series and animation.

The first season consists of eight episodes with the season finale set to air Dec. 21. No date has been announced for the start of the new season.

"Auction Hunters" explores the cutthroat world of storage-unit auctions with two of the best prospectors in the business, Clinton "Ton" Jones and Allen Haff, Spike said in a synopsis of the show.

"Ton and Allen are the very best in the storage-unit auction business and our audience has embraced their ingenuity and unique personalities," Levy said in a statement.
