Stephen "Steve-O" Glover has done many crazy things in his life, and now he's reportedly ready to take-on ballroom dancing.

The former Jackass, Wildboyz and Dr. Steve-O star -- who spent several weeks in a mental institution last year -- has been confirmed as a Dancing with the Stars eighth-season participant, OK! Weekly reported Wednesday.

"Steve-O is taking his dancing very seriously," a source told OK!. "He's committed to leading a healthy, wholesome life, and that includes mastering the classic moves of dance!"

Steve-O reportedly "verbally agreed" to compete on Dancing with the Stars eighth season in December, however -- as they do with all casting reports -- ABC refused to either confirm or deny his participation at the time.

ABC will officially announce Dancing with the Stars' eighth-season celebrity cast during the network's primetime programming block on February 8.

The last year has been a strange one for Steve-O -- who was placed under citizen's arrest last March at his Hollywood apartment complex on suspicion of vandalism and drug possession after he was filmed putting holes in the wall of a neighbor's apartment.  He was charged with felony cocaine possession stemming from the incident.

Realizing it was time to for Steve-O to clean-up his act, his friends "physically forced" him to go to Thalians Mental Health Center, where he completed a four-day stint under observation after an alleged suicide attempt. He then underwent further evaluation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

In July, Steve-O pleaded guilty to a felony cocaine possession charge but was able to avoid jail time upon the successful completion of his treatment program.

Dancing with the Stars' eighth season will premiere with a two-hour performance episode on Monday, March 9 at 8PM ET/PT.
