Stephen "Steve-O" Glover has reportedly decided to trade in his straight jacket for a pair of dancing shoes.

The former Jackass, Wildboyz and Dr. Steve-O star -- who spent several weeks in a mental institution earlier this year -- has "verbally agreed" to compete on Dancing with the Stars eighth season, TMZ.com reported Friday.

Dancing with the Stars eighth season will premiere on Monday, March 9.  As they do with all casting reports, ABC refused to either confirm or deny whether Steve-O will be participating in the season.

"We never comment on casting rumors, true or false," a Dancing with the Stars representative told TMZ.com

Steve-O was placed under citizen's arrest in March at his Hollywood apartment complex on suspicion of vandalism and drug possession after he was filmed putting holes in the wall of a neighbor's apartment.  He was charged with felony cocaine possession stemming from the incident.

Realizing it was time to for Steve-O to clean-up his act, his friends "physically forced" him to go to Thalians Mental Health Center, where he completed a four-day stint under observation after an alleged suicide attempt. He then underwent further evaluation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

In July, Steve-O pleaded guilty to a felony cocaine possession charge but was able to avoid jail time upon the successful completion of his treatment program.
