Britain's Prince Harry dropped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday night to joke about the possibility of him starring in a Christmas rom-com movie.

Looking confused, Harry interrupted Colbert's monologue about the avalanche of feel-good holiday movies involving faux royalty.

"Sorry. I genuinely thought this was the audition for The Gingerbread Prince Saves Christmas in Nebraska," Harry quipped.

"No," Colbert deadpanned. "That sounds like a fantastic movie, but you're an actual prince. Why would you want to be in one of those movies?"

Harry replied, "Well, you Americans are obsessed with Christmas movies and you're clearly obsessed with royalty, so why not?"

"I wouldn't say we're 'obsessed' with royalty," Colbert countered.

"Really? I heard you elected a king," Harry said, to which Colbert said, "That's a fair point."

The remark was met with a mix of cheers and boos from the studio audience.
