British rapper Ms. Dynamite was injured Sunday when she was involved in a high speed car crash on the set of the Sky One TV series, "The Race."

The rapper, whose real name is Niomi McLean-Daley, was driving at 100 mph in a Formula Ford race car for the reality TV series when she spun wildly out of control and was knocked unconscious, said AllHipHop.com.

The "A Little Deeper" singer was taken to nearby University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire and is being kept there for observation.

The fact that the accident marked the second time a guest star has been injured during filming of "The Race" immediately prompted a response from the British series, the Web site said.

"We take health and safety very seriously and cover it from every angle," a statement from a series representative said. "We would not let them take part unless we were satisfied with the level of competence they were at and all the necessary safety measures were in place."
