DIY Network has announced it's picked up I Pity the Tool, a new reality show starring Mr. T from The A-Team series that will feature him remodeling outdated homes to give families a better place to live.

The new series, slated to premiere later this year, follows in the footsteps of celebrity-focused, renovation-themed shows before it such as The Vanilla Ice Project, Daryl's Restoration Over-Hall starring Daryl Hall, The Shatner Project with William Shatner, and Rev Run's Renovation starring Rev Run from Run DMC.

"Before I worked in show business, I worked in the demolition business," Mr. T said in a statement. "And even after I made it in Hollywood, I kept on building things."

In each episode of I Pity the Tool, Mr. T and his construction team "of tough guys" -- which includes HGTV Design Star winner and interior designer Tiffany Brooks -- will break down walls and tear out old rooms to give a family a hefty home makeover.

"We're hooking up homeowners who need help with their renovations," added Mr. T. "I'm tired of all this jibber jabber -- we're out here getting things done, working hard, demolishing the old and rebuilding the new."

Mr. T is known for his motto "I pity the fool," which is where the title for his show came from.
