Married at First Sight star Haley Harris believes her husband Jacob Harder is trying to blame her for why their relationship isn't working and doesn't feel that's fair.

During Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Haley, MAFS star Clara Berghaus and show expert Pastor Calvin Roberson watched back a Season 12 clip of Haley telling Jacob that she had been in a controlling five-year relationship before signing up for the show.

"Do you think you're almost still letting that relationship control you in a way that is unnatural?" Jacob asks in the clip.

"I mean, I'm sure," Haley replies, adding that she must "be better" about letting her walls down and relinquishing control.

"This process has made me be better about it," Haley insists.

Jacob noted he appreciated Haley's honesty and thought they had enough of a foundation to keep trying and potentially stay together long-term.

"I think if you wanted this, it would work," Jacob concludes.

Unfiltered host Jamie Otis -- who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight -- asked Haley how she felt about Jacob's statement that their relationship could work as long as she wants it to.

"I feel like that's him kind of trying to blame the relationship on me, in my opinion," Haley admitted.

"[He's] saying that I'm the only reason this relationship isn't working, and I don't think that's fair."

Pastor Cal noted in response, "I can see what Haley is saying. There needs to be a serious meeting of the minds if there's going to be any success, and that's not just on Haley -- it's also on Jake."

Haley then turned around and placed some blame on Jacob for their struggles and the demise of their relationship.

"And I think that's a lot of the reason why we are having the issues that we are having is because he is putting a lot of pressure and a lot of the responsibility of engagement on me," Haley explained.

Jamie pointed out that Haley and Jacob's exchange appeared to be their first deep conversation.

When asked how it felt to finally open up to Jacob on a new level, Haley shared, "I would have preferred that we opened up earlier on, to be honest. I think if we had more open communication, we wouldn't have so many blowups and wouldn't have had so much just constant back and forth."

Given Jacob wondered if Haley's past relationship was still controlling her, Jamie asked Clara if her past romances affected her marriage to Ryan Oubre.

"Yeah, I think it would be silly to say we don't all come into this with baggage," Clara said.

"Whether that's good or bad, I think we all learned a lot from past relationships, and actually, I think I've learned more about past relationships and myself than I even did before."

Haley began pulling back from Jacob after they were intimate during their Las Vegas honeymoon, and she confessed once they moved into an Atlanta apartment together that she simply wasn't attracted to his looks or personality.

As the weeks progressed, Haley and Jacob did activities together in attempt to create some chemistry, but Haley cried on their one-month anniversary about how she was still feeling no connection with her husband -- at all -- which left Jacob feeling rejected and defeated.

Neither Haley or Jacob was willing to give up on the marriage, but MAFS expert Dr. Viviana Coles noted on the April 7 broadcast of Unfiltered that Haley was making it difficult for Jacob to break through her walls.

"He's in a really tough spot because if he tries too hard, that's unattractive to [Haley]. If he doesn't try enough, then she doesn't really have the motivation to move towards him," Viviana explained.

And the latest Season 12 episode featured the couple's relationship self-destructing.

Haley apparently hadn't worn the silver infinity bracelet Jacob had gifted her on their wedding day even one time, and the "disrespectful" gesture was a point of frustration for Jacob, who revealed he had spent $800 on the piece of jewelry.

"I didn't think it was a big deal I wasn't wearing it around everywhere... It didn't even cross my mind, honestly," Haley said.

"And that's why it bugged me," Jacob admitted.

During a subsequent sit-down chat with Married at First Sight expert Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Jacob admitted he felt "disrespected" by Haley's treatment of the bracelet, and Pepper told the cameras Haley needed to accept responsibility for her role in the problem or else her marriage probably wouldn't work out.

But Haley complained about Jacob bringing up the bracelet for "the 95th time," and her mother believed it was "tacky" Jacob was always bringing up his gift and mentioning its cost.

Haley's mother said the gift should just be returned to Jacob.
