Married at First Sight expert Pastor Calvin Roberson believes Erik Lake and Virginia Coombs shouldn't have discussed their future living arrangement in public and it's completely logical for Virginia to just move into Erik's condo.

During the April 28 broadcast of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Pastor Cal and Married at First Sight stars Haley Harris and Ryan Oubre watched back a Season 12 clip of Erik and Virginia arguing at the couples' retreat in Hilton Head, SC.

"Are you guys going to actively look for a place?" Haley asks the couple in the clip as the whole group was eating dinner together.

"That's a great question," Virginia replies a bit smugly.

"Am I supposed to just do that all alone?" Erik asks Virginia with surprise in his voice.

"I mean, no, but I did ask you to go ahead and start trying to rent out your place in case it takes a long time," Virginia replies, before explaining to the group, "Me living in [Erik's] condo is just a lot for me, with my animals and everything."

In addition to her dog Rocky, Virginia has two cats -- her "babies" -- and noted Erik is allergic to cats, which was "a big factor" in her reluctance to move in with her husband.

"It's just I own my place and so it seems to me that the more logical reason is you can't meet in the middle. It has to be your way," Erik complains.

Pastor Cal therefore suggested on Unfiltered, "I think the biggest problem with this conversation is that they had the conversation in public."

"When you have everyone else's opinions there, it tends to force you into one area or another," the expert said. "With every argument, the goal is resolution. The goal is, 'How do we solve this?'"

Pastor Cal went on to share how he believes Erik and Virginia should resolve their conflict.

"These are two intelligent people! They can move into his house. It's a logical thing to do," Pastor Cal said. "I mean, it's just logical."

Haley agreed, "Yeah."

Pastor Cal elaborated, "Have a time limit. [Say], 'We're going to get a house in three months' or something, 'and another little house outside for the cats.'"

"I'm not a big fan of cats," Pastor Cal joked.

Ryan acknowledged that Erik and Virginia had "a really, really tough conversation" in front of the group.

"Because I truly do understand both perspectives," Ryan explained. "I think sometimes we get into this idea of right and wrong, and it's just, like, perspective and perspective."

Unfiltered host Jamie Otis -- who starred on Season 1 of Married at First Sight -- asked Haley if it seemed like Virginia was putting all of the responsibility on Erik to find them a new place to live.

"Maybe she's putting more responsibility, not on finding a new place, but maybe on finding a renter for his place, which I get it's his place so he -- I don't know," Haley attempted to explain.

"I'm totally speculating!" she clarified.

Haley was apparently at a loss for words, and after Ryan pointed out "it's tough" to try to comment on the situation, Haley agreed this was such "a tough conversation" for her co-stars to have.

"I guess I see where both of them are coming from," Haley said.

On the April 21 episode of Unfiltered, Married at First Sight star Clara Berghaus voiced how it seemed Virginia and Erik, who were constantly bickering, were circling around the real issues in their marriage.

"It sounds like there's stubbornness on both sides and maybe not a willingness to compromise," Clara shared at the time. "I think that they both need to bend a little."

Clara added, "They're not getting to the root of the true problem, so they're fighting... repeatedly."

While Erik admitted he wasn't okay with Virginia giving him an ultimatum about their living arrangement, Virginia has struggled with similar issues since the start of her marriage.

Virginia found Erik's strong opinions or beliefs on certain subjects a little off-putting.

Virginia, for instance, accused Erik of being too controlling at times, and she didn't appreciate how her husband wasn't okay with her crashing at a guy friend's house after a night of drinking or "liking" a male friend's photo on social media.

Virginia also expressed annoyance over Erik's standards and expectations for his wife and their marriage. Virginia felt she needed to follow Erik's rules or else he wouldn't be happy with her.

In addition, Virginia believed her husband had given her an ultimatum about having children.

Erik once told Virginia that he'd be "done" with their relationship if she didn't want to have a child with him, but he later backtracked when confronted and altered his stance on the topic.

Married at First Sight expert Dr. Viviana Coles said during a March episode of Unfiltered that Erik tended to explain things in a commanding way that sounded demanding.

Virginia determined that while she and Erik love each other, they may not like each other all the time.

In the latest episode of Married at First Sight's twelfth season, Erik made it clear he loved Virginia and wanted to stay married to her on Decision Day because she brought "color" into his life.

"I've never loved someone so quickly in my life, and I wouldn't have wanted anyone else than you," Erik shared with his wife, adding that he believed Virginia is his soul mate.

But Virginia seemed unsure of her future with Erik and whether they could make things work long-term.

"It's hard for me to keep seeing the light," Virginia told her friend, explaining that she and Erik were in a pattern of fighting and making up.

She later said in a confessional, "There are these issues that keep coming up, so there's a lot to think about in the next couple of days."
