Lamar Odom "definitely" needing a kidney transplant is out the window now.

Odom is no longer in need of a serious kidney operation and he's been taken off dialysis, Us Weekly reported.

Although the 35-year-old former NBA star suffered kidney failure last weekend and was on dialysis for six hours a day, according to a source who revealed the good news, Odom's health continues to improve every day.

Just yesterday, an insider told Us that Odom is "walking with help now" and doctors have been trying to reverse his kidney damage so he wouldn't have to go under the knife. Medical efforts were clearly successful.

Odom has faced an uphill battle in the hospital since being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel from a drug overdose on October 13, but his wife Khloe Kardashian has remained at his side. She withdrew their divorce papers in court but still appears to be involved with her NBA playing boyfriend James Harden.

Odom is currently staying on the physical therapy floor of Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, according to TMZ, and his motor skills are impaired due to "a dozen strokes" he survived in the initial stages of his recovery. However, Odom is reportedly regaining muscle function and the ability to speak with others.
