While the Kardashians have always taken shots at tabloids for lying or exaggerating their personal business, Kim Kardashian admits her pregnancy troubles were even worse than the media had reported.

"Pregnancy for me was a lot tougher than people saw on my show or from magazines," the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star told People.

"So to get back to feeling like myself just makes me feel good again."

Kardashian reportedly gained 50 pounds while pregnant, and the way she carried such weight on her petite 5'3" body frame became the focus of months of tabloid reports and paparazzi photos. She was compared to a whale in some photos and headlines claimed she couldn't stop eating and had gotten fat.

"[I'd] tune out the media," she said.

But Kardashian's highly-publicized struggle seemingly ended once she gave birth to her baby girl. Kardashian and new fiance Kanye West welcomed a daughter whom they named North "Nori" West on June 15.

Since then, Kardashian has reportedly lost 43 pounds of her baby weight thanks to exercise and an Atkins-based diet, and she just became engaged to West on Monday.
