George Osmond -- the 90-year-old Osmond family patriarch and father of Dancing with the Stars fifth-season celebrity participant Marie Osmond -- passed away early Tuesday morning.

Marie's brother Donny told Entertainment Tonight about their father's passing on Tuesday morning as he preparing to tape a segment for the syndicated entertainment news program.  Donny spoke with Entertainment Tonight anchor Mary Hart on Monday about a recent visit he shared with his "very frail" father.

"My dad's not doing very well... he's very frail, very fragile... [but when] I walked in [to visit him] he just lights up and he says, 'Donny... I love you,'" Donny told Hart.  "He says, 'I love you.' He doesn't say much, but when he saw me and said, 'Donny I love you'... my 90-year-old dad... who can't do much, but when he says, 'I love you,' that's all he needs to do."

The entire Osmond family was planning to appear on Friday's broadcast of The Oprah Winfrey Show -- an appearance that was scheduled to honor the family of entertainers, which includes Marie.

"I don't want people to think we're patting ourselves on the back, but let's call it the way it is," Donny told Hart. "We stuck together. Stayed together as a family. My hats off to my parents."

Marie and her Dancing with the Stars professional partner Jonathan Roberts performed two routines during last night's performance episode broadcast.  The couple received a 28 score -- a perfect 10 and two 9's -- for their quickstep and a 24 for their cha-cha, giving them a combined score of 52 out of 60 from the show's three judges.

Marie had dedicated her quickstep performance to her parents.  "This was for them tonight," Marie told Dancing with the Stars co-host Samantha Harris after completing her miltary-costumed quickstep.  "My hair-do is my mom's hair-do.  They met in the military... [and] when they got married he had $18 and she had $35 and they used to dance to make money to eat."

It is not immediately known whether Marie will still participate in tonight's live Dancing with the Stars 5 results show broadcast on ABC.

George Osmond's passing is the latest in the string of incidents to hit Dancing with the Stars' fifth season cast. Last month, actress Jane Seymour's 92-year-old mother Mieke Frankenberg died following Dancing with the Stars' October 1 performance broadcast.  Seymour wasn't in attendance during the next night's live results show.

Three weeks later, Osmond fainted live on stage after her performance show samba routine with Roberts, however she was in attendance at the next night's results show broadcast.

Last week, Seymour missed last week's results show because she was suffering from a case of food poisoning

Marie's mother, Olive Osmond, died in 2004 at the age of 79.
