Clare Crawley and Dale Moss portrayed a picture-perfect public life after their engagement and The Bachelorette departure aired on ABC in November 2020.
However, that image suddenly came crashing down in January 2021 when Dale announced the couple had broken up and Clare made it clear the decision wasn't mutual.
"I wanted [to] share with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways. We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time," Dale wrote on Instagram.
"We strongly believe in leading with love and always remaining true to oneself -- something our families have taught and instilled in us throughout our lives. We only hope the best things for one another."
Dale reportedly wasn't ready for the level of commitment Clare was expecting, which appeared to be marriage and children in the very near future.
Two days after Dale's announcement, Clare broke her silence on the split and said she had been blindsided by the statement.
"I was made aware of a 'mutual' statement at the same time you all were, so I've needed some time to really digest this," Clare wrote in an Instagram post.
"Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed."
However, The Bachelorette couple reunited in Florida in February 2021 and got "back together" after "figuring things out."
But by September 2021, new reports that the couple had split up again -- this time "for good" -- surfaced again.
And shortly thereafter, both Dale and Clare publicly confirmed they had broken up again.
In October 2022, Clare announced she had gotten engaged to her new boyfriend, Ryan Dawkins, only a month after she had gone Instagram official with their relationship.
