NBC, the last-place network in reality programming, once again seems determined to take on a "reality TV" project with no connection to reality. According to Hollywood Reporter, NBC has greenlighted a pilot of a new "reality" show entitled Celebrity Temps, which features the contrived situation of celebrities working as temps in "ordinary" jobs that they are ill-equipped to perform.

The pilot episode features the silicone-enhanced actress Carmen Electra, who will be trying to work as a nanny for small children for a day. We feel confident in presuming that the pilot will prove that Electra and her ex-husband Dennis Rodman did the world (and the state child welfare agencies) a great favor by not having children.

The show's producer says that Celebrity Temps will allow viewers "to see famous people in the throes of ordinary life." Whether anyone will really want to see how ill-equipped most celebrities are to handle ordinary life is an open question, but audiences may soon answer that question for NBC and the rest of us.
