Bruce Jenner reportedly feels released from the constricting lifestyle he was living with the Kardashians' matriarch Kris Jenner, as he's a simple man who wants simple things.

"I'm finally free to do what I want and live life the way I want," Bruce told attendees of an event at the Virginia International Raceway over the weekend, TMZ reported.

With news just surfacing of Bruce and Kris' separation after 22 years of marriage, witnesses were reportedly surprised how much Bruce was "flirting" with girls at the Lamborghini tent and heard him discussing how things are very different for him now without directly addressing his split with Kris.

Sources all but confirmed to the website Bruce has always rejected the "Hollywood life" and been "a simple man" who just enjoys "three things" -- golfing, model helicopters and racing cars. Cameras and fame reportedly make him very uncomfortable, which clearly doesn't coincide with Kris' goals and how she lives her life.

"[Kris is] on a freight train and Bruce finally wanted off," a family source told TMZ.

Kris reportedly didn't want Bruce, who allegedly moved to Malibu in June, to move out, as she worried it would make her family look bad and bruise the Kardashian brand. However, Bruce was reportedly fed up with the show hype and wasn't happy around Kris.

A source close to the family told People, "Bruce lost his voice and his opinion with Kris."

"Sometimes he would mention that it bothered him, but most of the time he wouldn't say anything, so Kris just went about living how she was and treating him that way."

Nevermind in his marriage, Bruce also reportedly had no control over Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which he stars in alongside his large family.

"Kris runs the show, that's for sure. Bruce basically had no say in anything. He was told what to do. You'd go over [their house] and there were always a million people running around, and it was pretty obvious Bruce didn't feel comfortable in his own house anymore. Half the time Kris would just shut him right down like she didn't want to hear from him," a show source told the magazine.

"Bruce just wanted some peace and simplicity in their lives. They've become far from it. It's not that he doesn't appreciate what they have [in terms of money], but he didn't feel the need to always have more, like Kris did."

Now that Bruce and Kris are separated, according to TMZ, Bruce is concentrating on rebuilding his "adult relationship" with his two sons from a previous marriage, Brandon Jenner and Brody Jenner. The men's mother Linda Thompson raised them with her current husband David Foster.

Bruce, 63, and Kris, 57, officially announced they were parting ways Tuesday evening.

"We are living separately and we are much happier this way," the pair told E! News in a joint statement.

"But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority."

The couple wed in April 1991, which was only a month after Kris got divorced from the late Robert Kardashian. Bruce and Kris have two daughters together -- Kendall Jenner, 17, and Kylie Jenner, 16.

Bruce -- who, in addition to Thompson, had also previously been married to Chrystie Crownover -- is also a stepdad to Kris' three girls whom she had with Kardashian: Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian, as well as son Rob Kardashian.
