The singer and actor said on Instagram that she was forced to skip the film's debut that night in SiŁo Paulo because of travel troubles.

According to a message posted to Instagram Stories, Grande had to deplane because of a safety issue and could not take off until tomorrow, "which means that I would not make it in time for the Wicked: For Good Sao Paulo premiere."

"I am so heartbroken that I'm unable to be there with you all," Grande wrote. "We sincerely tried everything we could and I apologize from the bottom of my heart."

The sequel to 2024's Wicked sees Grande become "Glinda the Good" and her co-star, Cynthia Arivo, is declared "The Wicked Witch of the West."

In her apology for missing the Brazil premiere, Grande said she and her team searched flights -- overnight, connecting, early morning, commercial and private -- but could not find a way to get there in time.

In the case of taking a private flight, she noted that there would not be enough time to get the required permits to make it to the premiere.
