Dean McDermott's affinity for motorcycles has landed him in a hospital bed.

The Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood star is in the intensive care unit with a punctured and collapsed lung after crashing his motorcycle on Tuesday while dirt-bike riding with two friends, People reported Thursday.

"Thanks for the well wishes. A collapsed lung is no fun, and is a lengthy heal," wrote McDermott in a Thursday post to his Twitter account.

"Feeling pretty bad today. Day 2 is always the worst."

The 43-year-old couldn't move and was bleeding heavily from his right side with a puncture wound after the crash, according to People, which added he was subsequently taken to the ICU of a Los Angeles-area hospital.

"His friend called me and said he was in the ER. He didn't want to scare me so he just said he had a crash and that they were X-raying him," wife Tori Spelling told People.

"At first I was mad. I was pissed that he was out biking and crashed. But when I showed up and saw him lying there, and they told me they were admitting him to ICU with a collapsed lung, my heart dropped. My biggest fear had come true."

Spelling added that McDermott is in "a lot of pain" after suffering his second motorcycle accident this year -- as the first one left him with a shoulder fracture.

"He's taking this as a sign and realizing family is too important to risk his life," Spelling told People about the latest crash, adding her husband has vowed that he's done with motorcycles.

"When I first saw him he just softly said 'I'm so sorry.' I just held his hand and cried. That's when he said, 'I'll never do this again. You and the kids mean everything to me.'"

McDermott is expected to remain in ICU for a few more days and make a full recovery.
