Tony Gilroy is in final negotiations to direct the fourth installment of the Bourne series of movies, EW.com reported.

The Hollywood screenwriter penned the three previous films -- "The Bourne Identity," "The Bourne Supremacy" and "The Bourne Ultimatum" -- all of which starred Matt Damon as the title character.
EW.com said it is unclear, however, if Damon will reprise his role in Gilroy's "The Bourne Legacy" since he has said in the past he will only star in another "Bourne" flick if Paul Greengrass, the director of the second and third installments, also did the fourth.
