Tony Award-winning actor Denis O'Hare was returning from his sister's wedding last week when he and his companion, Hugo Redwood, were taken out of line at the Newport News, Va., airport for an extra security check, PlanetOut reported on its Web site.
As the guard pulled them aside, Redwood joked, "I guess we must be terrorist suspects."
Redwood was handcuffed and interrogated by Transportation Security Administration staff for 2 1/2 hours before being charged with disorderly conduct.
O'Hare, who won the 2003 Tony for his role in "Take Me Out" said he's still angry about the incident.
"For the first time I feel like leaving the country," he said. "America is becoming a nightmare with the permanent war culture brought on by this president. I don't recognize my country."
