The Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. admits two bachelorettes, Krystal Nielson and Kendall Long, made a big first impression on him, although neither girl won his first rose.

Krystal is a 30-year-old fitness coach from San Diego, CA, who asked Arie to meditate and remember to be grateful for the experience upon meeting him that first night of filming at The Bachelor mansion.

"Krystal's presence was undeniable and her Ferrari red dress was burned into my memory forever. Her mediation and breathing exercise was totally needed and actually helped calm down my wild nerves," Arie wrote in his People blog.

And Kendall is a 26-year-old creative director from Los Angeles, CA, who sang the Bachelor an original song on her ukulele.

"Kendall wrote me a hilarious song on the ukulele. I really didn't know how to react to a beautiful woman writing me a funny song other than to laugh and enjoy myself," Arie wrote.

"On a stressful night, it's so important to have levity because at the end of the day, finding love should be seriously fun."

During a recent interview with E! News, Arie suggested The Bachelor fans should take Kendall more seriously, because up until now, her strange taxidermy collection -- including a seal for which she performs music -- has been the focus of her footage.

"Kendall is a quirky, very beautiful, very interesting, and very smart person," Arie insisted.

"And so, I love watching [the season] back because you're going to see more of her in the next episode -- and in a couple of episodes -- and she's just interesting. It's just fun to see that back because I never saw that [seal] song."

Arie, a 36-year-old pro racing driver turned real estate agent, found talking to 29 women at the cocktail party challenging and nerve-wracking.

"As much as I wanted to find love, so did they! This was their shot to find love, just as much as it was mine! So I really needed to express how ready I was to find someone and how sincerely I believe this whole experience CAN work," Arie wrote in his People blog.

"I wanted them to see that my heart was open and that I truly was here to fall in love and find my person... I had so many questions: Why are you here? What's our story? Do we have chemistry? I realized right away what a remarkable group of impressive, intelligent and charming woman I had here."

In addition, Arie was appreciative how Annaliese Puccini put herself out there, Brittany Taylor created a fun driveway race, and Jacqueline Trumbull "therapized" him.

"I like being asked tough questions and being challenged," Arie noted. "It was conversations like these that really made me hopeful about finding love here again."
